sounds to me more like you solved one efficiency problem on the stock van about the same time you created a new one with the lift and tires...
as for spedometer readings, as stock the speedometer will read high, most vehicles (especially older ones) do, I suspect it is so that you can't sue the automaker if you get a speeding ticket.
so if your spedometer is accurate, that indicates a change from stock.
a better check is the odometer, check it at one of those odometer test sections they put along the highway.

Hi, dont know where they got this great fuel mileage. even i am one of the first person who own & drive L300 for the past 6 1/2 year still cannot get even near that mileage despite doing a properly tune for my L300. even got 2 1/2 inch of stainless muffler which help the fuel mileage gets better:

I did a little research and from what I can determine these would be the mods that vehicle would have to have: first of all, obviously, hollow bearings in the hubs and spoke-less rims; low rolling resistance tires with ultra-fine tread-lines for ultra-traction; and finally, of course, helium-filled seat cushions.

I was thinking more along the lines of properly tuned dilithium crystals channelling the energy from the matter-anti-matter reaction... ('cuz he sure isn't getting those numbers on diesel!)

ROFLMAO..... Im wondering how long it will be until there is a post from a new member about their L300 that is not getting the 40MPG its rated for and wanting to know what $5 part needs to be replaced to make the milage come up to "Normal"

while the flux capacitor won't improve your mileage any, I'm sure it will make you arrive at your destination sooner... possibly even before you left home (of course I'm not sure how you get a Delica up to 88mph to make it work!)

Notice that the seller doesn't say "legal to register in all provinces" which isn't quite the same thing. One reason I can't move back to Quebec is because I own a Delica, and I can't register it there. I can drive it there while it is registered in another province or territory, just can't register it in Quebec.

As for fuel economy, mine has done an average of 12.8 L/100 km (22.1 m/UK gal) in the 42,000 km since I got it. Actually, it is 2% worse than that, given the speedo/odometer error. I don't think I'm a leadfoot, but I do have a roof rack that reduces the aerodynamics from poor to lousy.

As I mentioned in another fuel economy thread herein, over about a 1500km trip this summer I averaged 30mpg (UK gallons.
Ok, think I also rounded up from 29.8). Included much on logging roads, under 100km/h (mostly 80-90km/h) on hwy, and some 4wd hi & lo range sessions. I have slightly larger than stock tires at 235/75...so maybe I could add a few tenths to this number even. I did drive conservatively 80% of the time. Haven't calibrated the speedo with a GPS, but it seems pretty close when I come across those "Your Speed is: " speed mionitoring signs they put up. Van is stock height, no non-stock mods other than EGR removed. Haven't got around to adjusting the waste gate so max psi is 10-11. Hi-roof w/ no roof-rack.

Hmm...it's a 5spd though, whereas most people in this forum who discuss fuel economy are driving autos. Perhaps there's a practical reason the 5spds only came with a single 55L (or is it 60?) fuel tank whereas the autos came with 2 tanks holding 75L? (or is it 80)?

I'd be curious to read of a long-term apples-to-apples fuel economy test comparison of tires filled with air vs. nitorgen.

speed is irrelevant, how accurate is your odometer?

Air is 78% nitrogen, so I don't see it can make any significant, measurable difference. The only reason to use pure nitrogen is to reduce corrosion and flammability.

That's amazing mileage. The best I've ever seen period.

30 MPG converted to KM/L (L/100KM) is 12.75 KM/L (7.84 L/100KM).

The closest I got to that was 27 MPG and it was an auto, lowroof, all highway doing 90 km/h on flat with no wind and some downhill.

I've owned 2 5-spd's and both got lower mpg than my auto's with the same tires, etc... on the highway.

In the city, the 5spd got better mileage but as soon as you hit over 85 km/hr on the highway in a 5spd, your mileage drops significantly.

Hydrogen would make the even LIGHTER!
