Cool, glad you got that working, I guess what the guam guy said was true, the water pre-turbo causes the little turbo to act as if it is larger, therefor, the map has changed and you are not cavitating the air that much so your only increase in temp is from compressing the air. I would try injecting a little sooner than 20psi, if what he said is true it should help you spool a little quicker and I think anything above 16-17psi is the limit for efficiency on the little 11G without the pre-turbo water injection. You need to think about the extra rpms your turbo has to spin as well. On another note, have you tried turning up the fuel much more??

Hey there.
I did have the injection on sooner at 15 psi,but I am always running in that range, used alot of washer fluid in a short amount of time.
Also did increase the amount of fuel going in.Kept turning it up to the point that my exhaust looked like a tractor puller. At that adjustment level temps would climb quickly to 1400F after turbo.Had alot more off the line power, but if you didn't drive hard it would get slugish.Turned fuel back down, less power off the line, but has better mid range & top end power. Also better on fuel.Max temp now is 800F WOT.Right now I have 150KM & fuel guage is just below full mark.I'll see what kind of mileage I get if I can manage to drive normal, instead of fun driving.

Thanks for the great pictures. I'll see what happens with no alcohol. It think EGT will be a quick limit.

Update.
Some of my lines started to leak,so I went to Home Depot & found some clear lines that matched up.Cut them to length, cleaned them & installed.I didn't clean them enough, both nozzles plugged. What ever plugged them melted inside the nozzle.Soaked the nozzles in carb clean for a couple of hours.Cleaned them out with an air nozzle. So after all that, new lines work good. This system needs to be very clean, any little particle can plug up the nozzles.
My fuel mileage has not been that good because of fun driving & dirty airfilter.Running more boost means more airflow, airfilter plugges up quicker[12000KM].
Also took off intake tube to check turbo blades. They are cleaner, erosion looks abit more than before I installed the kit.I think the original damage was from the pcv oil mist.I'm going on 2 years with the kit & about 30000KM.
Oh ya,fuel mileage 10.6-12.2 L/100km.Sorry not very consistent.

for comparison, my unmodified L300 with serious mechanical issues is averaging 11.6L/100km for the past 20,000km.

If I drive normal,100kph,10.6L/100km is easy. It's so easy to do 120-125kph now,but my rpm is around3000-3300rpm.Fuel used really goes up quick.Once I get over the fun driving,my mileage should be alot better.

If I drive my delica "normal 100kph" I get better than 10.6 every time. but my "normal" is more like 110-120...

hate to say it, but improved fuel economy doesn't seem to be something you're getting...

I don't think that's what he's after :-D

But hey, at least his van is still running! 8-)

I'm with David, fuel mileage doesn't seem to be the goal here (but fun is)! But Green...hang on a sec, I think you're manipulating the facts here... serious mechanical issues don't necessarily imply poor fuel consumption, also, despite Langley not being too hilly, Calgary's poker straight roads matched with extraordinary level terrain may assist your mileage if you want to get into semantics. :?

You could in theory get better mileage by running a leaner than usual condition and then use the water to cool things off and give a hint of added compression, but that's scary when what you're counteracting catastrophe with an expendable fluid source. Needless to say, it's good to see some success with the system..... David, Felix? any luck on your end?

Haven't bothered to go over the system again to figure why it's not working. Was too busy holidaying... but I'll take the nozzles off to see if they need cleaning and go from there.

So no, no improvements yet.

I tried a version of Shaun's "Pop Valve" controller. I cranked the boost from the 13 psi I was running due to the "Pop Valve" up to about 18 psi. The extra boost reduced EGT's as long as you keep the rpm's about 3000+. I tried a few hills around here and with overdrive off and 3000 rpm it would take a very loooooong time to get EGT above 1000. The boost the way I've got it set rarely goes above 15 or 16 unless you have high rpms for a few minutes on a steep hill.

This setup has really improved the operation of the van in OD and once you get your real speed ( GPS ) up over 105 it will maintain it on a much steeper grade without EGT problems.

Cool, good to hear it works for you.I'm going over to Davids today to check out his injection system & to give him a pop off valve bracket spring thing.Controller sounds like good name for it.
Nice to know that the drop in egt is correct.

Ya, Shaun came to show off at my place today... 8-) His set up definitely works, so I need to investigate why mine isn't, I've been lazy about figuring it out but now I have no excuses. We're guessing the nozzles got crap in them from the install but who knows.

It was quite interesting to see a turbo boost in a Delica hit the 25psi  Nice running machine Shaun and thanks again for the bracket!

David, have you found any "Roundtuit"s since this last post?

Not sure what Roundtuit stands for but I've since cleaned both nozzle and it made a difference.

The system for me anyway is only efficient when under a good load and high turbo boost. If I'm going up a hill with my foot on the floor my turbo will be about 15psi. Flick the water/meth switch and the boost jumps another 2-3psi (17-18psi), I can usually hear the engine revving a bit faster but it's not that obvious. A little increase in power is also felt but nothing snapping your neck for sure. I'd say about 5% min.

With my current mod my EGT very rarely sees anything above 800 degree so I feel safe with my higher boost. I'd be tempted to increase my fuel some more, raise the boost again and I suspect that would generate even more power from the water/meth.

But I have another project now so my dear Mitsushi has moved onto the back burner...
