Nice pictures of the ALBACORE (those were my favourites). The beer looked good too.

I thought I saw a Delica in some of those shots too, no?

Great post, thanks. Looks like you had a fun trip. I like the look of your dog and that roof pod looks slick up there - fits right in. Oh, and that tray of beer looks pretty darn good too!

Well, I got the altimeter, I have the depth gauge (I prefer the more traditional sounding methods of dipping a branch), but I SO WANT A TORPEDO LAUNCH CONTROL! It would save on chainsaw wear if I could launch something. Maybe take out some beaver dams (oh, that is so politically un-correct)... smiles. Great pictures!

Thanks for making me homesick. Although I lived in Montreal, we spent many Victoria Day and Thanksgiving weekends in Cape Porpoise, which is just up/down the road from Kennebunkport and Old Orchard Beach. Sigh :-(

I can see why you would have modded up the altimeter and depth gauge, and who wouldn't want a torpedo launcher?!

But what's with the Left hand drive? That's just wacky!

Actually, it's on the port side of the submarine.

Coincidentally, in the more than 100 years that the modern submarine has been built, by various nations of the world, the depth keeping and helm control (one-man control in the VICTORIA-class submarines Canada runs) have been located on the port side of the control room.

I guess that port side drive makes for easier parallel parking of the submarine, eh?

However, as the two nautical names for left and right are derived from porting on one side because the "steering-board" is on the other side, why is it that the wheel is on the port side in a submarine?

It is indeed on the port side.

The interior has that nice wood paneling just like Mardy's Deli.
