I was woken up at 2:35 in the morning last night to some jackass's horn blaring away.....wait a second, that's my horn!

Easy fix thanks to recommendations from this site.

Steps to fix:

Remove small screw from under the steering wheel (really obvious as it's the only one there)

Gently pry off the horn assembly from the steering wheel. You want to be fairly gentle as there's an electrical connection from the assembly to the wheel, so you don't want to rip the thing off and damage the male/female connection under there.

You can see one end of the little connecto in this photo

The phantom horn occurs after the thin foam which is sandwiched between 2 metal plates degrades and allows the metal to contact each other. Happened to me last night I guess cause it was getting cold and the metal/plastic/foam shrank a little. THough the horn has always been super sensitive.

Here you see the plates and the foam

So the fix is thanks to Mardy I think? Just use 2 plastic coffee stir sticks and cut them to fit between the two metal pieces where the foam is. This separates the plates enough so they don't touch but still allows you to compress the horn so it still works.

THanks Mardy, no more running out into the alley in my gitch in the middle of the night - my neighbours thank you. :o
