Wow. This is all a bit confusing. My L400 came from Brave with new compliant headlights and the original JDM lights in boxes. Both new ones have "E13" in a circle. However, the left light has an arrow pointing left and the right has an arrow pointing right, making me think someone made a boo boo. From what I'm reading here, both arrows should point right for RHD roads. The two sides cast totally different beams; the right is much higher than the left. It's been a concern since I got the van but I thought it must be normal. Now I'm not so sure.
Any comments?

post pics of the beam patterns and of the codes on the lenses of both sides.

often there is also an arrow to show which side of the vehicle the light goes on, this should not be confused with the certification arrow which will be immediately bellow the E13, if there is no arrow immediately bellow the E13 then the light is compliant for north american traffic.

As for the beam patterns, the right side is supposed to be much higher then the left, this allows you to see roadside signs better, without blinding oncoming traffic, it sounds like your lights are correct to me.

Hmm. Mine have two arrows each. :o There's one directly above one of the circled E13's (each light has two circles 13's... or maybe three). Then below that there's some symbols of some sort and then a second arrow pointing in the same direction as the upper one... so it's below but not immediately below circle. Both arrows point left on left light, right on right.
I sure hope you're right about it being OK. If not, I bet Mark would look after anyway but I'd just as soon it weren't necessary. This business has got me a bit concerned. Any idea how I can find out for sure?

so it's below but not immediately below circle

then that counts as "no arrow" which means it's good for Canadian traffic.
