Re: What did you do TO your Delica today?

Removed the EGR, installed EGR blanking plates. Not sure if I am being superstitious, but I think the van accelerates a lot better now, even while going uphill. It feels like the engine can breathe now. There was a lot of soot in the pipes but I put the blanking plates on top of the holes anyway. Wo...

Re: festoon LEDs

maybe mine is different... but I have 28mm ones and they don't fit, just a bit too long.

good thing they don't cost an awful lot

I haven't tried mine in the front of the cabin, just the rear festoon. There may be more room in the front one.

festoon LEDs

Well I bought a couple, the bulb for the rear festoon light doesn't come on. I thought well, might as well switch to LEDs. They were selling 28mm LED replacements, the bulb I have is a bit shorter (24mm?) and I thought "ah, no problem, I'm sure it can fit. There is a flexible end there." U...

LED for compass

Is it possible to replace the backlight for the compass with an LED? I replaced the inclinometer and voltage meter lights with white T10 LEDs, but the compass is another matter: The light is inside the compass' casing. I didn't try to open the casing, not sure how to do that and I didn't want to ris...

did the other side this morning before going to work. before http://www.delica.ca/Photos/displayimage.php?pid=2125 after http://www.delica.ca/Photos/displayimage.php?pid=2124 It's too bad Mitsubishi decided to make that casing in plastic instead of glass. I bet the rear lights would be a little brig...

Re: What did you do TO your Delica today?

I sanded one front indicator light. Looks a bit better, not as yellow. Left side is not done yet: http://www.delica.ca/Photos/displayimage.php?pid=2121 (you can also see the retractable parking pole) Right side is done: http://www.delica.ca/Photos/displayimage.php?pid=2122 I tried to embed the image...

Re: inclinometer plug

Acetone is not a good idea -- the ball cleaned up all right but the plastic turned milky white. It also showed me there were hairline cracks all over the globe. Some of which I could see initially, but with the acetone they are obvious. I will try to find a replacement. My opinion at this point is, ...

Re: inclinometer plug

I decided to bathe mine in acetone overnight, hoping it will dissolve any and all glues.

Hopefully it won't dissolve the ball and the paint as well, but I'll find out tomorrow morning. :-|

Re: horn not working

Diesel and Electric here tested both horns, neither worked. They installed a new one. Had another problem re. LED strips that CT wouldn't pass, Diesel and Electric actually called the bureaucrat responsible for the MVI in NS and he said it was okay. All good now. I may go back to Canadian Tire to te...

Re: Overlandia: Canadians Embrace Japan’s Stealthy Adventure

"But there is the tiny issue of driving an underpowered vehicle with the steering wheel on the wrong side (a chore that’s complicated if you have to operate a standard stick-shift)." I don't find that at all, though mine is an automatic -- I drove my Delica off the Autoport lot without any...

Re: inclinometer plug

thanks. I put mineral oil in mine last week, but yesterday I noticed bubbles in the display... Took it apart this morning and realized that 95% of the oil is now gone, drained into the back of the console. At least it wasn't water. There are hairline cracks in the plastic sphere, it being 20 years o...
