Re: Removing door armrest
I believe you are right. In that case, after careful consideration I came to conclusion that those armrests are not relly that tattered at all and they can wait until there will be need to do something inside the door

Removing door armrest
I'd like to freshen up front door armrests, as they are torn a bit etc. It looks like they are held in place by just two screws: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13684535/screengrabs/20140514-191209.png but after I unscrew them, they seem to be held by something else. Are there any hidden clips, ...

Re: Fuel economy... what's yours?
Busik stats are suspiciously low: 9.5l/100km over last 1500 km or so.

Re: Optimal RPM range and engine braking
Its not my driving style to push the transmission or engine roughly unless absolutely necessary ;)
I found that Busik handles best (to me, at least) in the 1500-3000 range, any less rpm-s and its shaky, and more are not necessary in the majority of cases.

Re: What did you do TO your Delica today?
Busik had glow-plug problem. Relay was usually not engaging after turning key into ON position, only after turning engine once or twice, and lately not even then. So... with a head full of information about ECU fails and so I digged into it... and found loose screw where the cable was attached to gl...

Short trip around small mountains
So, as we had extended weekend (May 1st is IWD and 3rd is Constitution Day, which falled on Saturday so we got free Friday instead) and we were able to take Busik out and about for a short trip to see how it handles itself. It handles excellent, as it happens :-D https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-y...

Re: '91 L300 - "Busik"
Took first long(ish, about 600 kms total), with significant parts off the beaten path. I'm very impressed with the way Busik handles those conditions. We slipped here and there, but it's at least in part due to tyres that it has currently on. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-yA3kzx0YFts/U2bFH75dQB...

Optimal RPM range and engine braking
Busik is the first diesel engine vehicle that I have, so I am a little unsure about a few things. I was wondering, what are the optimal RPMs, especially what is the lower end of usable range? 4D56 engine, 5-speed manual transmission. Also, does engine use up fuel while braking? My intuition says yes...

'91 L300 - "Busik"
So... I thought I'll make a thread about my Delica, called semi-affectionately "Busik" (small bus/van in Polish). http://www.delica.ca/forum/download/file.php?id=17606 It's (most probably) 1991, with legally stamped out VIN (long story). https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-VxQSqo4JaK8/U0Z8n...

Re: Silly question about the bumper.
Thanks for the pointers. There is a *lot* of different bumper version, it seems, even all-plastic ones. For example, Steinbuchsoldat's ride has integrated headlights and blinkers on the main body, while mine has front blinkers built into. Looking at exploded diagrams also cleared the situation. A li...

Silly question about the bumper.
So, when I was buying my Delica, I talked then-owner into getting this thingy offroad. He went ambitiously in the area beside the river and then it turned out that he's not that skilled in offroad driving, so he backed over a tree stump and damaged front bumper. I was able to haggle down the price b...

Re: New member from Poland
Thanks for the warm welcome! :-) I do indeed have a name for my copilot. As for Delica, so far it has not very creative, but affectionate name "Busik", which in Polish means "small bus/van". It might get rechristened after first trip, if something remarkable will happen. With reg...

Hi, I recently (two weeks ago) purchased a 1991 2,5TD L300. It will serve as an expedition vehicle for our Europe trips and in due time maybe also as towing vehicle for trailer with our other 4x4. We've made trips over southeastern Europe so far in Skoda Forman (a.k.a. Favorit Estate), but however r...
