yep malahats customer service sucks.. but they are cheap.

Synthetic diesel oil is available and is reccomended for diesel engines. I may be wrong but... about 5 years ago i did a timing belt on a old vw diesel. The car made a similar sound as you describe.. and it was not good because the timing belt was aftermarket and did not fit the cam cog correctly... After about a week it gave out and slipped.. not good results. This may ...

Ok after all of the discussions on the temp gauge... I started to look into mine.. :o ours never reads above the 1/10 th mark so i wanted to check the gauge and wiring. I see that the head has 2 probes in it.. one is 2 wire an done is single wire. I would imagine that the 2 wire one is a temp probe ...
