Re: Cylinder Head Reccomendations
If the rest of your head (camshaft, rocker, etc.) are good I had great success with FAI BCH044 (keep in mind this is for 1992< protruding valve head, you need a different part number for recessed valve, but check the "FAI" catalog) which you can find on ebay.ca Mine was delivered from UK f...

Re: Rebuilding a power steering rack
I’m wondering when removing/installing the rack do you need to remove the steering knuckle & disconnect the cv axle on one side, or does it slide out with only the tie rods & other connections disconnected.
Manual seems to imply it pops out pretty straightforward ….

Re: Rebuilding a power steering rack
Good write up guys. Just went through a year of rack problems till I had mine rebuilt by Randy at Steering Solutions 9785 192 st Langley 1 877 513 9813 randy@steeringsolutions.com A month after the rebuild with lots of backroad driving it's still holding up well. FYI Randy is not a steering rack fa...

Depo headlight
The wiring from the van is a 3 prong female (traingular) and the wiring from the headlight assembly is a 4 prong male (square). I'm going to have to cut the plug off the old light and put on the new headlights. You are right. Steven :M I just want to triple check before going about chopping the con...

Speedometer cable route, things along the way
Just replaced my frayed speedometer cable (think this also fixed odometer turned a 0.0001 on 600m test drive, yay) and found a few things. What is this? I can’t quite get the replacement speedo cable in the exact same position and it’s rubbing at the lower bolt. Tempting to remove if it’s got to do ...

dash Temp gauge not functioning
Next step: There's two wires connected to the temperature sender. Find the yellow with red stripe wire, connect it to earth (against the head should do) and turn the ignition on without starting the engine. The temperature gauge should move fairly rapidly towards hot. Turn the ignition off before t...

I'm wondering if you make this swap, what vehicle / VIN# do you use to search for parts on Amayama, etc? I'm assuming it doesn't remain a 1992 L300 Delica ...
Do things like timing belts, oil filter, air filter, thermostat, water pump, etc remain the same?

Speedometer, odometer & tripometer offline, any suggestions?
Thanks for the tip; took me a while to actually perform the test - coincidentally I can kinda judge speed by rpms ... highway at least
So this bit ... Not turning! Does this also effect odometer(s)?

Speedometer, odometer & tripometer offline, any suggestions?
The strange part about the cable is it feels solid rather than having anything inside, nothing visible inside the gouge. but i understand the concept of cable inside cable housing.
Sounds like a good test. To be clear - roll van in Neutral. Or engine running; drive/reverse?
Thanks!

Speedometer, odometer & tripometer offline, any suggestions?
My speedometer has stopped working (reads 0 km/h no matter how fast I'm travelling) after pressing the tripometer whilst driving. Both the speedo and tripometer failed instantly after resetting to zero (tripometer is off kilter zero). -My odometer has been stuck at 129,999 for as long as I've had th...

Transfer case fill plug
Just wondering about my transfer case breather. Mine seems to be plugged because there was some suction when replacing u-joints ... should popping it out and cleaning it suffice, or has anyone replaced this with a better one? figure it's a fairly common size (metric vehicles) or likely to be a mitsu...

When looking to purchase used torsion bars are there any tests one can conduct to check that they're not worn out already?

Fuse Link Box Repair ~ MB434379
The exposed wire leading to the spade doesn't seem brittle. I was pulling quite hard a few times in the process of removing the plastic housing and it didn't feel like it was waiting to snap. I backed off for fear of breaking it, but more being careful as it didn't feel like it was going to go. Gett...

Fuse Link Box Repair ~ MB434379
Awesome that was really helpful. Although now I'm wondering if the spade terminals in the fuse box eject the same way? Tried on my old one without much success, but maybe just need a tinier screwdriver. I did use 10-12 gauge crimps, as I noticed the wire was larger than the normal 16-14 in the van ....

Well they're L400 seats. I'm assuming there are some DIY brackets involved? They don't just bolt on do they?
