Any other Winnipeggers having trouble this week?
At -40 you will need a fuel additive to make sure you fuel is not gelling up. You can purchase at any truck store. The fuel will gel up as the wax firms up in the diesel, and will actually plug your filter. Some of the trucks will run fuel heaters to avoid this, others will need to add a Product lik...

Re: Battery drains when idling with front & rear aircon runn
If you are idling and wish to see your battery charge register well above 12.5 with the two fans and accessories running you will need to purchase and alternator that is rated for a high amperage at idle . Basically you could purchase a 150 amp alternator and it would not make a difference unless if...

Re: Help! She is running rough! Stranded in saskatoon
I would also guess that it is your diesel gelling. When it gels it then plugs up the fuel filter and you no longer are getting the correct amount of fuel. When diesel gets very cold it can gel, even though it can be winter diesel. Heavy trucks and some vehicles have fuel filter heaters to help with ...

Middle seat question - Does it recline?
Looking at a Delica, and wonder if the middle seat which is a smaller bench with a jump seat attached, will recline and not just go flat. My wife wanted to know if it is adjustable like a regular front seat or if the level allow the seat to just go flat. She would like to have it more upright when t...

Re: Hello from Antigonish Nova Scotia
Go to tdiclub.com and you will see there are numerous problems with running veggie oil on a tdi. Basically the rings coke and stop moving in the grooves and wear out the cylinder. I would not be converting the tdi for sure.

pick up a 1985 Lincoln continental fuel pump for the 2.4 diesel. This pump was designed to pump diesel and also has a built in check valve. It is an inline pump and can mount easily.

Re: Probably need to replace cylinder head?
Just wonder if you could have a sticky thermostat or a thermostat that is not fully opening. I have seen that occur with similar symptoms. On VW diesels we would start them up from cold and run them for just a few minutes to see if bubbles were coming through the expansion bottle. An old trick with ...

Re: EGR Removal Broken Bolts
SLIDE a slight bigger nut on and mig weld the nut to the stud. Then use a socket to remove. The heat will break any bond with the manifold. No removal of manifold needed.

Re: Lower mainland/Van Isld Veg/Canola OIL PRICES beat the p
Diesel at Superstore is $1.31 a liter less 5 cent discount = $1.26 I am always a little cautious of running cooking oil in any of my diesels. I have taken a 1.9 vw diesel motor apart with 100,000 kms and seen the rings complete carbon and seized in the grooves. I know in tdiclub.com their are many p...

Cheap $2.50 Parcel pic up in Sumas- Abbotsford
Just discovered a new parcel pic up in Sumas that is only $2.50 a parcel. Restoring old cars and working on Landcruisers and Vixens, I end up picking up parcels fairly often in Sumas and this is a huge savings for me. Not sure if any others are aware of this service. They have been in business now f...
