Re: what did you do WITH your delica today

I had a great burger in Bralorne at Sally's Pub, then drove the Hurley back to Pemberton.
It was fun to wave to the Sledders, but the "whoop-de-dos" they make are a good test of stock suspension!

Still not really ready for regular traffic...

Re: Combination switch bypass rewire

Falco, those contacts seem pretty small for the current that goes through them which is why I think a separate switch for Off - park - headlamp is a good idea. The high beam switch appears a little more durable. I'm back on the road with a JB weld repair to the plastic doo-hickey that turns on the l...

Combination switch bypass rewire

Hi All. Like others have experienced, my combi switch failed. In addition to the corrosion from arcing (thanks to Falco for the very detailed instructions) the little plastic doo-hickey has broken off. I'm currently waiting for the epoxy blob to harden so I can try to get back working but I think lo...

Idle increases when lights go off

Hopefully someone can help here:
When at idle (750~) and I turn off the headlights (no DRL) the idle increases to ~950 or so. This just started a few days ago.
Any suggestions? A symptom of...?

Thanks,
Graeme

Re: Help needed - electrical no start

by "no resistance" I did mean there was continuity.

Just to reinforce my belief that electricity is mostly magic, after taking everything apart and reinstalling... again... it decided to work.

Thanks for the replies: now it's my turn get a beer in hand!

Cheers - Graeme

Help needed - electrical no start

I had the dual batteries out and upon re-installing I have power to everything but will not start. No click from the solenoid or turnover. Fusible links have no resistance so i assume they are OK. Not sure where else to look: anyone have any ideas? There are a few small wires with connectors that co...

Re: seperated crank pulley

I've been in this same spot, except that mine came right apart, blew all the belts and overheated. I got very lucky in that no head damage resulted, but realize what can come of this if it fails. A new balancer is a couple of hundred $$. Good to replace the key and the bolt as well, and make sure it...

Re: Universal Rad Hose

Gates p/n: top hose 21701; lower 21201. Should be able to get that through Napa or cross to something else.

Good luck

Re: mystery belt

Yes, the alternator does have two belts. When you replace, be sure to do it in pairs and try to have matched pairs if at all possible. If you are ordering through Lordco or similar ask for matched pairs. If you look at the numbers stamped on the belts you should be able to tell if they are cut from ...

I show an AC Delco 17295. Napa should be able to match that up for you.

Rear shackle bushings

Hi. No luck finding p/n in a search.
Does anyone have numbers (or even dimensions) for either OEM rubber or Poly bushings for '93 L300? Energy seems to be easy enough to get - just need the right size. The stock ones are all cracked.

Thanks,
Graeme

Re: chugging noise resonating through my air filter

have a look on the bottom of the air filter housing - there is a small rubber flapper valve ( I suppose to let water drain). If it is damaged and doesn't seal it will make a noise that could be what you are hearing. Try pushing on it with your finger to see if that's the problem.
