Re: The Cool Box..
When i had my L300 we were able to cycle freezer packs from the cool box to our food cooler on our trip across canada and it worked great. You have to tuck them into the lower slot in the cooler to actually freeze. Probably 3-400km driving to refreeze a pack . I miss that van everything on it worked...

Re: Mt. Prevost
My Deli has been to the top in summer and 3/4 way in winter , some good tobogganing up there in the right conditions .
Would be a great spot for a meet.

I used some UHMW plastic pieces , nylon or dense wood would work as well, maybe aluminum.

Re: Best (Ply)wood for bed costruction
Most lumber yards carry it around here, if you are in a Rona/Home Despot dominated region try looking under hardwoods in the yellow pages. Windsor Plywood carries it as well. A 12 mm sheet should run around $45.
The 5' size is nice for spanning across the van without joins.

Re: Best (Ply)wood for bed costruction
Baltic birch plywood , it comes in 5'x5' sheets , has very thin consistent veneers of hardwood and no voids, so you can use thinner sheets.

Very nice , I'm sure the unistrut is stronger than the angle I used.
Nice job on the carpet too , makes it look finished.

L400 Rear Hatch Lift
Just added 10mm thick blocks to the top mounting brackets and that gave a me 52mm lift to the tailgate
Also used longer screws.
Could probably go as much 14mm but that was the material i had.

Re: L400 bed + shelves
I added a removable drawer unit under the bed, 3 feet x 3 feet . I found that I take stuff in and out frequently when camping and road tripping and last trip to tofino was warned a couple of times to keep everything in my truck when not at the campsite, this included water jugs , campstoves and card...

Re: L400 bed + shelves
First trip with this setup went smooth , I think I might get some 4' extension slides from lee valley and add a sliding tray under the bed. These pics are from the Greenpoint campground at Long Beach Tofino . We had one day of rain and two days of sun. That folding aluminum table is from Leevalley a...
