Re: Timing and balancer belt + tensioner parts in Victoria?
Parts just came in, hopefully I can get a good part of it done tonight. As for the bolt, the threads on it look good so a bit less torque and some thread locker seems like a good way to go for now, and it is true that it can be accessed without dismantling everything so I can always swap it out at t...

Re: Timing and balancer belt + tensioner parts in Victoria?
Sooo, I got the 2 belts, 2 tensioners and a water pump coming my way from Van, however I no one seems to have the crankshaft pulley bolt in stock and it will take a week to get in; I was offered a used one though... I went back to the engine manual and it doesn't say anything about it being a stretc...

Re: Timing and balancer belt + tensioner parts in Victoria?
Fair enough, I'll check for bearing play, I didn't feel anything but I wasn't looking for it... The van has just about 100K and has been in Canada for 3 years (I've had it for 1.5 years, ~85k when I got it). The belts where definitely done when it was brought over but I am not 100% sure about the wa...

Re: Timing and balancer belt + tensioner parts in Victoria?
Thanks for the input; the bottom pulley looks happy (I'm assuming you are talking about the rubber part in there) and as far as the water pump goes, I'm not sure what I am looking for but everything I can see looks good... Lordco doesn't have these on their cheat sheet (which I suspected) and the de...

Timing and balancer belt + tensioner parts in Victoria?
Sooo, I did my oil change today and decided to poke around a bit and took the timing belt cover off... Turns out I've been driving around with a busted balancing belt tensioner for a couple of months. Retrospectively I know what day it happened: we were driving on some really rough logging roads so ...

Re: Tire questions again...
Took the first (short) drive today with the new tires and I must say it feels completely different! The ride is wayyyyy smoother, I guess the wider and larger tires don't fall in the small cracks in the road anymore and the taller sidewalls absorb more. The gearing also seems a lot more appropriate ...

Re: Tire questions again...
Thanks for the input... After all this reading and pondering, I ended up going with the Toyos, they will be installed tomorrow. It was a tough decision between the Silent Armor and the Toyos: I liked the fact that the silent armor have the snow rating, and they were on sale so it felt like I would b...

Tire questions again...
Ok, I'm looking at replacing my tires with some 30"... I've read some tire threads around here but I still have a couple questions. I mostly drive on roads but I want to be able to go on logging roads and not have to be too worried about damaging my tires if I go over a few sharper rocks. One s...

Re: Another exhaust question: flange size/downpipe/DIY?
Thanks for all the input. I will go with what the shop proposed: 2.25" exhaust and Magnaflow muffler, keep a short piece (only about 2-4") of exiting pipe after the flange to make easier to assemble and keep the adjustability/tolerance to mis-alignment. This will get done next Thursday. Ne...

Re: Another exhaust question: flange size/downpipe/DIY?
Well, I don't know for sure if I have it right... that's why I am asking. I wan't thinking of getting rid of the springs though... Just letting the plate that is pushed by the springs come in contact with the flange on the downpipe. The issue I see with that is that everything would have to be align...

Re: Another exhaust question: flange size/downpipe/DIY?
Thanks for the info. I agree that I don't like having that short piece of smaller pipe as it seems like a bottleneck (but only if it's actually smaller than the hole coming out of the downpipe, if it's only a couple more inches of the same diameter it's not actually a restriction)... There is one th...

Another exhaust question: flange size/downpipe/DIY?
I am looking at replacing my dying exhaust with a 2.25/2.5 side dump system and I have a couple questions. The main one is what are my options regarding the flange connection? The last place I went to want to do the standard "Keep a couple inches of the existing pipe after the flange and weld f...

Re: Herd of Delicas with boat trailers at Cattle Point today!
I wish I did but I didn't have my camera unfortunately... On of the trailers looked like it was for a pretty big boat (dual axle) while the other one looked pretty small. I was wondering what was going to go on there but I was just dropping of the van and trailer and I had to leave to get the boat. ...

Herd of Delicas with boat trailers at Cattle Point today!
I pulled up at Cattle Point today and was delighted to park next to 2 Delicas pulling boat trailers so that made three of us next to each other!
I didn't see anyone otherwise I would have liked to say hi!
