Re: CVI
I am in Squamish, but would like to plug it in at the ski hill (usually Whistler). I agree, they start, but they do warm faster coming off the block heater.

Re: Cold Weather oil weight
I went with mobile1 out of convenience, no one seems to have much in the way of 0w40, the lubromoly was special order only from the auto value warehouse and was 15$ a litre! The start up was a lot easier already, glad I went lighter! any comments on the mobile1 stuff? I don't believe Mobil One carr...

CVI
Just had the Deli tune from CVI. Had not dealt with the shop before, so as is my nature, I was suspicious. I looked with a flashlight when I picked up the van last night, and could not see any evidence the fuel injectors had been out (I had the intercooler off the day before). Talked to Butch, he as...

Re: Cold Weather oil weight
A PAO base stock syn can go much further than 10K and is designed for turbo diesel engines in heavy transports. Go 10,000 k, otherwise you are wasting a lot of money. Some transports have run Delvac 1 with and oil analysis program and run 100,000 k on an oil change. Don't believe me? Google Delvac 1...

Re: Cold Weather oil weight
I run 0W40 year round. At the Shell card lock, the price of 0W40 is slightly cheaper than the 5W40. The 0W40 is a PAO base stock: this is good, don't worry about what it means... The 5W40 is a group III synthetic, not as good. I buy the Esso XD3 extra 0W40, $7.40 per litre. Now, it has been replaced...

Raising Rear End
Hi All-
I frequently load my delica up with about 600 pounds of motorcycle and racing parts. I would like to jack up the back end while travelling like this.
What are my options? Spring recurve? Air bags? Lift blocks?
Looking for the easiest one... cheap would be nice as well.

Sorting Out Cold Start
Hi All- Well, sorting out the last of my issues with my new L400. My cold idle is way low. When I did my coolant flush, I did indeed find the tube to the cold start capsule was clogged. Thx, Jessie. Fixed that, and I have verified that the cold start lever is moving from one position to another. The...

Solve Your Wiper Problem
If you, like me, can't find an adapter for your JDM wipers: Go to a parts store. Order Bosch #41919 19" Excel wipers. Jobber price was around $15 at Lordco (but list is $30!) They contain a "QX" adaptor. Put the adapter on your blade. It is not an exact fit, but will go on without mod...

Re: Low idle when starting in cold ?
]injection timing ignition timing We are talking about injection timing. It is adjusted via proprietary gauge tool via rear of the injection pump. The pump itself rotates on the shaft axis adjusting the timing. Non-turbo and turbo have different timing settings. Many come over with retarded timing ...

Yes, I guess adding a new controller is the sensible thing to do. It would be more elegant to use the mitsu controller, if it exists, but hey, life goes on...

Re: Correct Coolant
Still have not found a brand that is OK for wet liners. Does the L400 have wet liners? Sleeved is no big deal, what matters is if the coolant is on the liner itself.
Any brand suggestions? Canadian Tire sells an OAT diesel coolant that does not require an SCA, but it says nothing about aluminum...

Re: Low idle when starting in cold ?
Timing is advanced? Are you talking about gas engines, or diesel ones? I am sure that injection timing is fixed, but perhaps it adds more fuel? It's quite common for diesel engines to advance the injection timing for cold starts. ...laura I didn't think you were right on mechanically injected diese...
