Transmission woes
I have a 1998 Spacegear with 3.0V6 gas engine and auto transmission. When lifting off the throttle and slowing down up to a stop the transmission will down shift hard, the neutral light starts flashing and a code 34 is stored in the transmission ECU. There is a four pin relay on the side of the tran...

Re: Power window complete failure.
This is a common problem with the L300, Rob called and asked about suggestions as to what was wrong and I told him what to look for. That large plug that corrodes by your left foot (not a fusible link) can give several different symptoms but the windows stopping is the most common. Good job they hav...

Re: Mystery Wiring
I would almost put money on the fact that this harness goes up to either the cigarette lighter or stereo harness and was there for a tv between the seats. It has a permanent live, ignition live and a ground.

Re: Wants to stall
Sounds like either the cold idle adjustment is way out or the front pump seal has gone. Try adjusting the cold idle and see how it goes.

Go buy a stripe removal wheel from Lordco, cost about 12-15 dollars and cleans them off perfect.

Re: Mystery Wiring
That is aftermarket wiring. Probably the remains of TV/Navigation system that once lived there. Almost looks like a turbo timer harness but that would not be in between the seats !!!

Re: lifted delica thoughts?
This van sure is an attention getter  one of the reasons I agreed to buy it. The lift on the front has both ball joint blocks and sub-frame blocks as well as steering linkage extension. With the experience we have had with lift kits on these vans so long as they have the correct spacers on th...

Re: L400 alternators in Nanaimo
The alternator fuse is bolted into the housing, don`t pull too hard it will pull apart !!! Just pull both negative terminals and you`ll be OK :-) The voltage gauge will read very low for approx three minutes after start up due to glow plugs drawing so much amperage. Let the van run for a few minutes...

Re: Diesel versus Gasoline Delicas
I have imported several 3.0V6 L400`s and yes they are cheaper at auction but once in Canada they are more expensive to carryout all the necessary preventative maintenance to make it a reliable daily driver. Most of the owners of the 3.0 vans we have dealt with all say that the fuel mileage is around...
