Oudbak-
I've just got the one battery, but I'm not really wintering my machine this season. It starts with no assistance down to -10, And I've never even tried to crank it over if it is -15 or less.
(hopefully next winter, with upgrades, we will use it more)

Re: What is the most reliable/best year l300?
Yeah, Flexboi, I noticed that.. I have a late 93 L300 and I was always wondering about when people say they were "cycling" their glowplugs.. ....I just wait until the light goes off and then it starts.
I do however hear a click when the relay engages, but not when it disengages.

Re: Next Meet
Yep, Good Times!
Thanks for showing me a few things, it's awsome the confidence you can have when you have two other Delis along to pull you out if you have troubles.
I'll post a few pic too as ( as soon as I figure out how)

Re: Next Meet
Okay, I think we could do Saturday early.
As long as we could be back by around 2pm, it's all good.

Re: Next Meet
I've got some time this Sunday afternoon/late evening (Oct 24th)
Either (or both) of you guys (or any others in the area) want to spend a hour or two showing the new guy the ropes?

Re: Next Meet
I would love an hour or two out on some *novice* trails; following a more experienced driver
I'd also like to see a practical demonstration of these manual hubs..
Most weekend afternoons/early evenings work well for me...
Let's hook something up!

License Plate Bolt Size?
I might be missing something here, but I've tried 1/4 inch bolts as well as Metric M6, and both are close enough that I can get them in about 3/4 turn, but neither seem to be the "correct" bolts. My Delica came without any bolts in either plate holder, and while the M6 bolt will hold, I'd ...

Removing Sliding door Interior Trim (Scary)
I have to operate this weekend. Not having a functional sliding door (lock stuck) is unacceptable, so I have to crack it open and have a look. This is scary, as almost all my searches have yeilded only horror stories about ripping, tearing and breaking the fragile plastic rivets and trim panels, and...

Re: L300 Sliding door - Lock Stuck!
We have tried the WD40 trick, and used to have several other tricks, incantations and rituals that would work from time to time, but the situation has gotten worse and worse, and is now at the fully stuck position. We're in town to do some shopping on the weekend.. hopefully we'll find a place with ...

Re: L300 Sliding door - Lock Stuck!
Forgive my ignorance here, but is this something you could get at, say, Canadian Tire? or would I need to try a more specialty-type place?

Re: L300 Sliding door - Lock Stuck!
Yeah, we tried the "remote unlock" using the driver door; it used to be a part of the many-step process of getting it unstuck, but nothing seems to work anymore. AfterOil, what tool is this which you speak of? I would like to try a few interior modifications, and having the right tool arou...

L300 Sliding door - Lock Stuck!
It's always been a bit tricky, and required a bit of wiggling to get the knob up (insert terrible joke here) But now it won't come up at all. (yes, you can put one here too :) ) but seriously, the key won't raise the lock button, and pulling on it only gets it halfway up, which is not enough to dise...

How much Oil....
Will your average Delica swallow? From a bit of research, it seems that 5 - 7 litres is about the range... I'm new to the whole diesel game, but that seems like a lot. I'm a bit curious as to why such an amount; does anyone have time to waste telling me something that is probably quite obvious to mo...
