Oil filters have a bypass valve to allow oil flow if the filter is plugged. The filter being plugged is a possibility and may cause the oil light to flicker some until the oil starts flowing. I would change the filter and see.

Have you been up the coquihalla with it yet? What kind of temps does it see hitting the hills after the tollbooth? I've been reluctant to put a pyro in, but would like to know how hot it will run if you step into it. (maybe an L400 driver can pipe in) I have had bigtime ups and downs with my mileag...

Just filed up my third full tank. First tank gave me 13,41 L/100 km Second tank gave me 14,02 L/100 km :shock: ...I little bit more than I expected, consider I got 9,6 L/100 km in my first Pajero (manual as well but 2,5 L engine...) I put K&N air filter and full synthetic Shell Rotella 5W40... ...
