Re: Halloween Treat? Or Possible Trick?
Thank you to all those that responded. The solution was actually quite simple, and a bit embarrassing. While doing a bit of electrical work on the battery, jay and I discovered a small air intake hose tucked away alongside the battery. I failed to secure that when the battery was reinstalled. That h...

Halloween Treat? Or Possible Trick? - Problem Solved!
Since I've owned the Deli, it has always started quickly, but had a pretty good shake going for the first couple of minutes while in Park or Reverse. No problem. Funny thing, though. A couple of days ago it was a little harder to start (had to hold the key a bit longer), and there was quite a bit of...

Mystery Wire in DS Footwell
I was pulling the soaking wet insulation associated with my wet floor issue, and found this yellow wire underneath the carpeting. As a general rule, aren't wires supposed to go from something to something else?
Any idea what this is for?
Thanks.

Power Window is Kaput (sp?) - Wiring or Motor?
My driver's side window has officially stopped working, and I am trying to determine whether it is likely the motor or a wiring issue in the controls. Over the past few weeks the window has been slow in raising, almost as if it's straining. At the same time, I have occasionally needed to press the c...

Re: Installed EGR Blanking Plate - Sputtering at Full Thrott
Dude, I think you're bouncing the overpressure relief valve on and off, it's at the back left corner looking from the front and is designed to vent turbo pressure if you exceeded about 15psi. Have you pulled the turbo boost pipe from the wastegate off instead of the egr vacuum, or both? The wastega...

Re: Installed EGR Blanking Plate - Sputtering at Full Thrott
So I picked up the high temp sealant and reinstalled both plates yesterday. Let it sit for 2 hours and took her for a spin... and the sputtering was still there :-( (May have been a bit less, but that could also be wishful thinking). The sputtering sound sound definitely seems to coming from the wel...

Re: Should I have to have my headlights on to open the windo
Wow. Thanks, Christine. I am referring to the turn signal stalk. Essentially, I have to rotate forward the dial at the end of the stalk (as when turning headlights on) in order to turn the fans on or operate the windows. It sounds like this could quickly turn into something more serious than the qui...

Re: Installed EGR Blanking Plate - Sputtering at Full Thrott
Just a few details to add... The sputtering does not occur in neutral. It only seems to occur during high RPM's and stops as soon as the vehicle shifts. It is a very rapid sputtering. I switched the screw in the vacuum hose, no change. Question - Several of you have suggested a clogged fuel filter. ...

Re: Should I have to have my headlights on to open the windo
I am referring to needing to turn the knob to the right of the steering column in order to work the windows or AC.
I will test out the DRL suggestions if I can figure out how. Might need to call in a favor or two.
Thanks y'all.

Which one is the intake?Luna-Sea wrote:Hey,
My guess would be you have a bad seal on the EGR intake block plate or a somewhat clogged fuel filter.
I used some high temp sealant around my block plates.
Please post what you find.
Good luck!

Re: Should I have to have my headlights on to open the windo
very unusual first point to check is your daytime running light system - relay. properly grounded, connected to the right wires, etc... If everything revolves around your headlights, I would start there. Are there schematics out there for this? Let's pretend I've never done shy electrical work, us ...

Re: Installed EGR Blanking Plate - Sputtering at Full Thrott
Haven't tried in neutral. It sputters when I floor it and when climbing at a decent speed. Pretty much anything around 3000 RPMs.legionnair wrote:Full throttle under load or or in neutral?

Should I have to have my headlights on to open the windows?!
Please tell me if this is unusual...
In order to have the fan on or to operate the windows, I have to turn the headlights on. Is that normal?
Also, in the event that I leave the lights on, my battery is dead in minutes (less than 10). Is that normal?
Thanks.
