Re: New head or rebuilt used head?

Update: String of Bad Luck... My original head was re & re'd twice. After the first machine job in Kelowna it went back on then they noticed after some test miles that it was cracked. The machine shop insisted it was good when they finished the job... Precision Auto has a good rapport with the m...

New head or rebuilt used head?

Hello everyone, Happy New Year! Just prior to Christmas, driving my loaded 1992 L300 (auto) over the Coq to Kelowna, the head blew (cracked). Prior to that trip, I had done a cooling system check as my upper hose had blown not too long beforehand. Suffice it to say, with the coolant loss it ran hot ...

A Call for Body Parts

Hello members (sorry), Anyone on the forum have info regarding specific parts needed? I have a 1992 Jade/Silver that has suffered damage both in Japan and in Canada. Parts needed are: 1. Left Tail Light assembly (break light lens is cracked) is scuffed. 2. Silver Plastic molding directly below tail ...

Re: Auto Transmission

Thanks for the info... Kick-down linkage adjusted with some positive results - she shifts more definitively. However, even after adding some Lucas additive and letting that settle, there remains some slip from 3rd to 2nd under load. My thought is to let it ride with careful driving until any more ge...

Auto Transmission

Hello everyone, Prior to an August road trip, I visited CVI Auto for a tune-up. Great service - thanks Butch. The transmission fluid was dark, so the filter was cleaned and the fluid changed. It was quite dark - black. I then went on a road trip to the interior. Upon my return, I changed the fluid a...

SAME VEHICLE? +100,000 Yen

Hello everyone, For INFO: I've been researching the 1994 Spacegear on the web. That search turned up some UTube Vids and several caught my eye. One video in particular - a video 'ad' by Brave Auto International, listed a 94 Super Exceed white model with 116,509km for 595,000Yen. It was "reserve...

Re: Alignment

Yes... A slight pull to the right has been my experience, as well.

It sounds like, as most Deli's need the torsion bars cranked a bit for stability, a good time to do the alignment would be along with the t.bars.

Cool/Hot Box - revisited

Hi, I've reviewed the previous posts concerning this topic, but didn't find the info I was looking for... I'm wondering if my coolbox is operating correctly. The AC works, keeps the cabin cool; however, the Cold Box only gets intermittent blasts of cool air from the AC (along with what seems to be a...

Re: MPG // WVO

Thanks for the info, Schwa. I suppose the smoke when I start up in the am's is due to injectors, as well?

MPG // WVO

MPG: I previously posted regarding my turbo whistling a little louder than usual. There has been no apparent loss of power; but I have been hyper-vigilant about MPG as a result. On 28 litres of reg. diesel, I got just over 220 km (with some climbing but also long descents, Kelowna to Vancouver). Con...

Whistling Turbo

Hello,

Anyone with info regarding whistling turbo's? Mine has recently gotten a little louder. Note that there is no loss of power.

Thanks.
