Re: HAPPY CHRISTMAS! Electrical dead! Main fuse???
Thanks for the reply! I will go get a replacement at partsource. I haven't been able to look at it again since it went poop, but I just remembered, there is also a jumper wire in a little box...not a fuse, but a simple loop of wire in a loom that's labeled 'IGN', maybe that bit burned/fused. I have ...

HAPPY CHRISTMAS! Electrical dead! Main fuse???
Happy Christmas everyone! I went to start up the deli this morning, the door was up and the engine exposed because I had it on the charger overnight. Sparks! from the 80amp alternator fuse... and when I turned the key the next time, nothing...no instrument lights or glow plugs, no starter solenoid c...

Re: Is this a thermostat problem?
Good idea, I got a new pump with my timing job at CVI about 3 years ago but you never know.
I'll go there if I can't find the coolant leak in the wvo hose tangles.

Re: Is this a thermostat problem?
Thanks for the tips. It has only been an issue for a few days of driving, and it was low coolant. A bit puzzling and I didn't check that first because I topped it up fairly recently. Time to find the leak...I have some WVO gear that is coolant heated and it is probably somewhere in there. I'll also ...

Is this a thermostat problem?
Hi Delica.ca, Recently my L300 has not been blowing heat into the cabin. Heater blows air but it's cold. When this happens, I also notice the temp gauge climbs way higher than usual. It happens intermittently. When the heat does blow hot, the temp gauge is normal, everything is fine. And it seems li...

Re: HELP! L300 Voltage regulator: part number?
I searched a bit deeper on this board, and then called Brighouse. Both sources confirm Tapco IM281. I still don't know where to get it though, can anyone offer a suggestion in the Edmonton area? Thanks! For reference sake for anyone else looking: - I have a 1990 L300. I found a reference saying tapc...

HELP! L300 Voltage regulator: part number?
Hi everyone, I took my deli to a shop in Edmonton for alternator rebuilt. They sent the alt to a specialized shop. They don't know what part number to use for the regulator or where to get it. Does anyone know? Ideally for a bigger store like NAPA or similar where I can run and pick it up for them, ...

Re: Advice about brand new engine (hyundai 4D56T)
From what I've read on GaryO's project and other comments, it does not look like adding an intercooler is an easy task.
Has anyone swapped a Pajero engine with intercooler into a Deli before? Possibly relocating the intercooler in the process?

Re: Advice about brand new engine (hyundai 4D56T)
Thanks for all the input. Yes I am running veggie power, so personally I wouldn't go crdi but it's an exciting option for others. Maybe well-made b100 is an option for WVO types. I was also afraid of driveline issues, but on the phone Mardy told me that my 5-speed would be able to handle it. Probabl...

Re: Princess Auto Parts List
I agree that heat is your friend during filtration. If you want a ready-to-go inline heater solution, rather than heating up all of the oil in a drum, Leon at WVODesigns has an inline heating element that bolts to his centrifuge. I think it is around $200, 1000 watts and is good if you don't want to...

Re: A can of worms
I will throw in support for a Mercedes 300D engine too! I also have a G-wagon and I transplanted a turbo 617a into it last summer. The G is almost the same weight as my Delica but smokes it for both power and fuel economy. 'New' engine is an '85 with 350,000kms on it and it runs like a top. The prev...

Advice about brand new engine (hyundai 4D56T)
Hi all, I'm the happy owner of a factory reimo-camperized l300 Delica, full deal with pop top. I'm thinking about getting one of mdrive's hyundai 4D56T engines brand spanking new installed. Unfortunately my van is a P25V model, which has a naturally aspirated engine. This gets me an awesome 68 hp to...

Re: jdm mechanic in edmonton
Hi Kelly, nice to hear you're around, I may take you up on a thing or two when the snow thaws. I have been getting reduced fuel economy as of late, I am planning to do a diesel purge and see if that helps, do you think you could take a look? Do you weld at all, or do body repairs? I have been carryi...

Re: Coolant flow path?
For those who care... I did a very informal test. Started up the van, put the throttle lock on, and held on to both hoses. The 'heater' hose coming out of the block got warm quite a bit faster than the other. So if you're looking for a place for a temperature probe, and to take the most heat out to ...
