Re: Disabling a 'Door Ajar' Light on my Dash...
I had the gate unlock light that was attached to the locking mechanism, and the red door light would come on if it was just single latched, whether locked or not. I thought I remembered a plunger switch at the top controlling the light, but I could be crazy... very likely just assumed it was there b...

Re: Short cycle on glow plug circuit
From an electrical point of view the problem makes sense. I have no understanding of how a glow plug system actually works, but if I could make some assumptions (as in correct me if I'm wrong) I may be able to explain it. If the glow plugs are 6 volt I would assume 2 are wired in series, (or does th...

Re: Subaru CVT?
Yeah, I love it. Ds gear is an absolute riot. Basically sport mode in a 3 cyl. ha. Starting from a stop is hard on the transmission. The one thing I was told when I bought it is that from a dead stop just go easy. It makes sense, it does not creep ahead like a regular car, there is a switch to engag...

Re: Subaru CVT?
I have one in my 94 justy. It hasn't given me any trouble but I think in stop and go it might get hot. I had a clutch temp light flash on me once on a hot day in hot traffic. I also drive it like I stole it.

Re: 5 speeders...
consider yourself convinced and thank us when you drive your new 5 speed. I had a ton of fun with the 5 speed. The grunt it has in 2nd when you make a right turn.... those rainy days sure were fun. I went down to coachella in a 5 speed, doing about 90kmh the whole way, a bit more because we were on ...

Re: 5 speeders...
The top speed is the only reason to consider an automatic in my opinion. Nowhere near as weird a clutch as my friends surf, and it felt like driving an automatic after driving my friends WRX, that honestly got tiring when you weren't trying to have fun. I find the automatic feels kind of like a spac...

Re: Let's Talk In Knots!
I forgot all the names. I think I pretty much use bowline when I need an easy loop, reef to attach 2 ropes (unless i'm mixing up names, I still know how to tie 2 ropes together) clove hitch for tying around something, and a figure 8 when I'm climbing. And yes, I have heard it called breaking the kno...

figure 8?
After a few big falls lead climbing it can be a challenge to get the figure 8 undone.... however if you hand it to your belayer it is usually significantly easier given they didn't just fail their forearms a bunch of times.

Regarding window tint: 20% is the darkest legally allowed in most provinces on the sides of the vehicle (not including the driver and passenger window). The rear can be "limo tint" which is 5%. If the vehicle has 2 side view mirrors (one on each side) all windows behind the drivers should...
