my understanding was a b.o.v. relieves the pressure once the load is taken off the engine. Doesn't sound the same as your problem.

I've also read a blow off valve is completely useless (on most vehicles) but especially on diesels.

Could you give that in actual efficiency numbers, because if that's per 30L you're doing awesome, if it's per 75L it's not so great... different people on this forum put different number of litres in to different size tanks.
