Re: Boost level
As for testing the boost fuelling, mark the position of the bits inside, then turn it, through 90 degrees or so. The actuator underneath is an off centre cone, so you have 360 degrees of variation if you like. Theres some other adjustments, like a preload spring for that diaphragm, if its like the p...

Re: Boost level
You could be leaking boost from somewhere on the boost side. As growler said, mark it first :D FWIW changing the settings under there are the same as 'chipping' a modern tdi. You can raise the bottom end fuelling, midrange etc. These pumps are typically used on a lot of different sized engines so ha...

Re: Boost level
Right so, I would check the wastegate is free to move, to rule out it being stuck open. Also, I would check the injector pump, because actually you could have a fuelling issue. The turbo makes more psi as a product of the fuel being turned into gas, so the amount of gas you can make dictates the amo...

Re: Engine suddenly quit.
Occams razor. Balance belt snapped. Timing jumped a valve got smacked and it gave up. This more common than youd like to think lol. Also I think all diesels are interference. Only on the 'low'compression of a petrol do you have the luxury of leaving room! Fix it and drive it.

Re: Engine suddenly quit.
Rocker arms are sacrificial, v8rick on the uk site who is a mechanic has done a lot of these repairs and says he's never seen a problem. Tensioners should be changed with belts, as mentioned, and I think they need to be retensioned every once in a while, since the spring tensioner is locked down so ...

Re: Boost level
There is another question which is, how accurate is your boost gauge? Ive had a few, and none were terribly accurate. Good for a subjective look at boost level but off by several psi from what I could judge.

Re: Optimal RPM range and engine braking
The 5th gear is a lttle weak, fine for cruising, but if you are going to give some beans then downshift to 4th then back to fifth when you can cruise again. It will use fuel braking, but not a lot, well not a lot compared to pushing it forward lolololololwtf! I always find 2250-2750 is a good range,...

Re: Inexpensive Glow Plug Solenoid Replacement
That looks like 3/8 UNC to me, which has a 1/2" hex nut? I've always found 13mm to be pretty good on 12.5mm flats Nice work though :D
Actually, you should have filed the nuts down to 12mm to match all the other nuts on the delica!
