Where is this oil coming from?

Any ideas? I don't seem to lose oil between oil changes so this must just build up slowly. Any ideas where from?

L400 airbags

I have a set of airbags for the stock height rear coils of an l400. I'm sure you could make them work with longer coils too, just need bigger spacers. I removed these because I ended up going with HD coils instead. As you can see they're well used, the spacers are definitely work but they're structu...

L400 bare bones toolkit.

If you were to assemble your minimum travel toolkit for the L400 what would it be? I always work on my van at home and don't recall everything I've used. Maybe something like - 12, 14, 17mm box end wrenches, small 1/4" socket set, multi bit driver, hammer, vise grips, channel locks and a cresce...

Re: Pros and cons

Super easy to re-index, there's lots of threads on the subject as well. For drivetrain stuff, depending on how many km your van has, it can affect some things. When something has spun at a certain location for 140,000km and suddenly moves to a new location, it can cause it to need replacing quickly....

Re: Front winch mount options

Yeah, that looks really, really good. I would also love to see the mounting bracket. For ease of uploading, I find Photobucket the most straightforward for me.

Leaking oil filler cap

I'm sure I've seen someone mention an easy fix for a slightly leaky filler cap. Falco perhaps? It's more messy than a detriment right now. Any option other than to replace it?

Re: Puttin' on the Lift

I keep close track of my milage and I get an average of 12.8L/100km. That's with a pretty even mix of city and highway and not going over 110km/hr. I've got a 2" lift and 31x10.5 Duratracs. I hear unmodified L400's will get closer to 10L/100km.

Re: Puttin' on the Lift

It cost me a grand I think, with all the spacers and shocks and I had airbags as well. Since then I've removed the airbags, added spacers then removed all that and put the CCA heavy duty rear springs in with no spacers. Once I did that the ride was excellent in the rear. The front could use hd torsi...

Any hydraulic hose shop can make them up for you. All they need is length and end connection size!

Re: Puttin' on the Lift

Looks great! One day when you need new rear coils, Coombs has custom ones made up for us and they made the ride fantastic with no spacers needed. Just so you know!
