Re: 2.8 TD major oil problem

Try replacing your oil cap, I know mine failed and made a similar mess.

Re: Installing a Water Temp Sensor in an L400 - Location? Si

Lower rad hose is the best place to splice it in. Upper has better access, but you end up getting the temp before the coolant runs through the rad so it is very high. This is where I have it, good for seeing spikes and driving accordingly, but not ideal. I only put it there as the mechanical gauge c...

Re: Whipsaw Aug 2013

It went well. Was supposed to be three vehicles but the others had to bail. We just ran it solo. It was much rougher than a couple years ago, but a bit more moisture which kept the dust down. It was great to be the only people up there the Friday with Wells Lake campground to ourselves. Only ran int...

Re: Air bag support for rear suspension

Firestone is a common brand and makes quality stuff.

I believe there is a pair of airbags at CVI right now, maybe give them a call? Not sure what brand they were.

Whipsaw Aug 2013

Hello everyone, I am heading out to the whipsaw this weekend and wanted to invite any adventurous members to join me. I will be staying in manning park Aug 22nd over night, then heading for the trail after a good breakfast on Friday morning. I'll be staying over night Friday, and either heading back...

Re: Front Windshield moulding

Maybe get a second opinion. I went to a Kirmac Collision(sp?) and the service manager said it would be no problem to replace, costing no more than the usual ICBC deductible. He was very eager and didn't mention having to replace any trim. That being said, the trim sometimes gets loose or weathered, ...

Re: Delicat' Pajero WVO conversion

Looks awesome! I wonder how big of a tank could be fit under the shorty? Maybe I should figure that out and get you a new WVO customer! I would already have a tank in the back, but couldn't handle the potential mess and smell. Based on the tanks you've built/seen, how much do you think a custom 3/4 ...

Re: L400 injector pump rebuild

Happy it worked out for her and others. Just my personal prejudice against stop leak I guess! The ironic (moronic) thing is that I had to visit Japanoid for a piece of their parts pajero today... I get the impression that I am blacklisted there :) Was still civil and got what I needed though. Not su...

Re: Good camping spot in Squamish/Whistler/Pemberton area?

Birkenhead lake just past pemberton is pretty nice. Lots of car camping spots, a nice beach, short hikes around the lake. It can get a little windy though, so sometimes chilly. I went out of season so it was dead quiet. Looks like it could get busy by the amount of sites. Elaho valley is very nice t...

Re: L400 injector pump rebuild

IF you need a last minute part, I consider Japanoid but still usually try to hold off due to their pricing. Otherwise I would run and get your work done by another shop. Check out the bouquet and beefs section.... Also, instead of the oil stop leak in the tank, a jug of canola oil goes a long way an...

Re: Wheel and Tire Questions

If you have the 2.8 or 'winter package' you can fit upto 33x10.5x15 on stock rims with no rub. I run 33x12.5x15 camping and wheeling, all stock, tbars tightened, but not cranked.

Re: Getting silicone off of bolts going through radiator!?

You may want to try softening it up with a heat gun, then it will simply scrape off, or wipe off. Hairblower might even get it softer.

Yes, although they typically just mark it and put it back as it was unless timing was an issue.
