Squeal from Motor
I have a 94 L300 and I'm getting an intermittent squeal from the engine that is most prominent in the first minute after a cold start. I guessed fan belts, but checked tension and added belt dressing and no change. The squeal occurs intermittently, and when it occurs is constant from application of ...

How much (oil) is too much?
I bought a '94 L300 this spring with just under 100K on it. 100K maintenance had already been done, drive train is super clean. Checked the oil and it was a tad high. About 1/4" above the high mark on the dip stick. Next I thought the temperature was running higher than before, about 1/2 way up...

Re: DOT Headlamps -- damp inside?
Thanks for all the input. The original headlamps had silicone all around them, and maybe this is why. I will check them out. Argh, I just paid to have this done properly, and am going to end up doing the work myself.

Re: A Bus for the Rest of Us
Thanks. Yeah, I'm good a cleaning things. A handy skill, I must say. The tail lights too? Will you tell me about that? Is there some Web site that gives a run-down of what's supposed to be done upon importing a Delica? The previous owner did the 100,000km maintenance, so I figure it's up to me to ta...

DOT Headlamps -- damp inside?
I bought an L300, and somehow the first two owners neglected to replace the original headlamps. So I took it to a *reputable* Delica specialist (who shall remain un-named while I give him a chance to make good on his foibles) to have them replaced with DOT standard lamps. He warned me that there wil...

A Bus for the Rest of Us
Hi, I bought an L300 P2 (low roof) 4WD a few weeks ago, and gave it a good scrub and shine. Just getting a few things sorted out: - roof racks for my hang glider - a bed in the back for camping - replaced the headlights with DOT standard but not happy (more on that in Mechanical Issues) Other than t...

What restores black-ness of plastic parts?
I just bought a 94 L300 P25, and the backs of the mirrors, other black plastic parts, and especially the plastic around the bull bars ("MITSUBISHI") have turned light grey over time.
Is there something I can put on them to make the blackness return?
Thanks,
- Morgan

Re: High roof / low roof with racks
Oh, you haven't wasted your time at all. You contributed some very valuable information, and I appreciate that! I just made the joke that I got two contrasting opinions, so they cancelled each other out. But really, the two together outlined the considerations concisely, and that was helpful.

Thanks for your input, both of you. Now we need a tie-breaker! Stewart's keeping quiet because he already generously gave me a guided tour of his Deli. Thanks again, Stewart!

High roof / low roof with racks
Hi, I am looking to buy a Delica to use for hang gliding -- this means transporting gliders on the roof (folded up, silly! picture a duffle bag, 13 feet long). I have been advised to get a Low Roof because it makes the reach a little easier when taking gliders on/off the roof. But I've noticed that ...
