HKS EVC boost controller- new toy!

Very Cool 8-) I went and looked on eBay and found one for around 100 bucks, worth it? I feel like since I do not have a boost gauge yet it would be putting the cart before the horse...but I think it's neato and if they're hard to find I would try to buy it now cause boost gauges are available all da...

A question about the audio and some body questions

Ouch, is that the paint flaking off or is that bondo? As far as auto body (otto baudy) goes, i'm wondering why a shop would decline to work on a Deli? A mechanic I get because of then having to work harder then they want to, getting parts and learn about it but the outside is metal and paint just li...

New Problem...bearing about to go?

Growler, I hope you're right about the filth and wrong about the compressor.. :-) I'm gonna pull the belt for now and when I get time, pull the front assembly apart and clean it proper. I'm wondering if there is a possible match to the clutch in a domestic easy to get version. Maybe some other Mitsu...

New Problem...bearing about to go?

My initial search on finding just the clutch has proved frustrating. I can get the part from Mitsu with NO E.T.A. so it could be 3 weeks or 3 months to get it oh..and it's 500 bucks. Woof  ! Alibaba has the clutch kit but only sells in lots of 10...(sounds like Mr Fox from Peppa Pig.. :-) ). ...

New Problem...bearing about to go?

So, after ten minutes sitting in the van with the new stethoscope, I turned on the AC {noise sightly returned} then turned off the AC and there it was. When I observed the AC Comp I noticed that the front piece with the three screws (magnetic clutch i'm thinking?) was rotating and rattling on it's o...

Owning flat-out vs Payments... who's where?

I paid cash, but I bought a vehicle with imperfections =) We ride bicycles for most of our driving so getting a loan for a perfect vehicle was kind of out-of-the question; not reasonable in our cost-benefit analysis. But something to get us down dicey logging roads in winter and longer distances wh...

New Problem...bearing about to go?

Nasty. That sounds very much like a bearing. My money's on the water pump or the alternator. (Have you perhaps recently tightened your alternator belts?) Usually a failing bearing will get quieter when the engine warms up. If you have a long screwdriver you might be able to use it as a budget steth...

I recorded this sound...https://soundcloud.com/dead_eskimo/delica-schreech It started this morning afaik. Was worse before I recorded it. You can here that the sound is coming from fan pulley area when you put your ear close...and you can hear it stops when the fan stops spinning on the audio. Any t...

Owning flat-out vs Payments... who's where?

Cash only here, mainly because I usually own 2 or 3 cars at a time and never kept anything for more than 3 years*. Keeping track of finance would have been a nightmare. *Weirdly, I've had the Delica for 8 years now and have no intention of selling it. Only one other car a tthe moment too. Is this c...

Owning flat-out vs Payments... who's where?

Thanks for the reply. I'm currently selling my F350 to get cash for cool stuff like Snorkle's and roof baskets and such. The market's up on old diesels right now so I figured it's a good time to sell.

Hey Stugots1982, I can tell you my expansion tank stays at the full line hot or cold. If I were to check it and found it empty i'd be slightly worried.

just my 2.5 cents worth.. 8-)

Owning flat-out vs Payments... who's where?

So, through a stroke of financial horse trading we've consolidated our outstanding debt and paid off the Zanimo Wagon in the process. This made me realize that I never once, since we brought her home thought of her less than 100% ours, regardless of the possibility of Repossession due to non-payment...

Nice Ride, and welcome to the Cult! The big difference is that in our Cult everyone ELSE drinks the Kool-aid and drives boring, non-Delica cars and trucks. :-) I would change out your fluids and filters no matter how fresh they might seem to you (unless you've just done them then that is acceptably ...

Stainless Steel Brake Caliper Pistons

The idea of these are to increase lifespan and reduce failure rate right? It might be worth it to some people, especially if it was a kit with the two pistons and the new bracket.
Just an idea... :-)
