Drove through the rockies, a cracked windshield and a mud-blocked wiper-sprayer-thing are my souvenirs :-) Still love my Delica but it doesn't like the cold weather. Starts alright with my newly-installed block heater. It's awesome in pulling out of any slushy-snowy predicament I've yet encountered. The doors don't latch too well when the weather is -30. As a result I ran my battery flat when the "door is open" warning light stayed on for 2 days. Does this sound sad? It is. But I have 2 job interviews this week and perhaps will be able to afford a new windshield and the price of a vehicle inspection.
I am looking for a good Delica service depot. Also parts. Brought air filter and oil filter with me from Lordco, but lordy, where do I find anything in Calgary?
And, as for the vehicle inspection, I quake in my snowboots. I see that there are not too many Delicas on the road here, unlike the Delica-at-every-turn where I come from. Any wise words, please? Thanks in advance.

The oil filter and fuel filter both have WIX comparable numbers, and K&N makes a suitable air filter. Look in the parts section for the numbers.

You don't.... jfarang posted a ton of info regarding wipers, filters which numbers cross reference at shops here in Calgary, all you need to do is poke around and you might find something here. However if you need anything it's just a call away to any reputable dealers in vancouver and area and they'll ship it here pronto.....

Hey flybotfox, welcome to the site.

Filters can be found at Napa, Partsource, etc. You just have to grab the numbers from the parts section to cross reference to. Like Madmazda said, any other parts are a phone call away.

A bunch of us in Calgary use Kirkham for general service, but they don't have a diesel mechanic (yet). Pro-Active will work on diesel JDMs, but there has been very mixed reviews. There's been a bunch of inspection stations mentioned in recent posts here, Pro-star and Kirkham jump to mind, but there are more.

A good piece of advice I've seen here is to read - read - and read some more, and use the search tool if you seek specific answers - lots of common questions have been asked before and the answers are out there. 8-)
:M

Welcome to Calgary and the Delica world. It was good talking to you yesterday.

For windshields, don't you know that you aren't allowed to drive in Alberta with a windshield that DOESN'T have cracks all over? :-D

But anyway, the part number FW563 should work. The Deli was brought into the US in the late 1980s (in a stripped version), so places should have "Mitsubishi van", and the Mitsubishi part number is MB421735.

If it is stone chip fixing, Kirkham now does chip repair.

Thanks everyone! What a warm Starwagon welcome! I'm taking my van in for its OOP on Friday morning. Funny comment about the windsheild crack, I'm becoming more of an Albertan every day! Here's hoping the crack is small enough to pass. :M

I probably forgot to mention on the phone, but Kirkham does OOP inspections. They also do windshield chip repair, although cracks are probably beyond hope.

Don't become too much of an Albertan, there are enough red necks here, we need more pasty white BC rainforest necks!
