stereo head unit that fits Van Wagon?

I'm planning to put an audio system in the 88 and when I look on Crutchfield, it warns that essentially nothing fits. Has anyone installed an aftermarket head unit in their Van Wagon that can guide me if this is true? Or does anyone have a parts car missing the radio that could get some dimensions (opening dimensions, depth dimension)? Thanks in advance.

If it helps, mine (1992) has a jvc KD-R328 stereo head unit in it. You should be able to use Crutchfield to reverse engineer something that is the same size. It looks like a single din head.
182mm x 52mm x 159mm and the install adapter is 188mm x 59mm x 9mm.

If your van is the same as my 90 LS then you need a double-din stereo. I never replaced the stock one in my 90 LS US-spec van as it worked fine, but I have replaced the stock double-din in my Japanese-spec 89 Delica with a double-din that I bought from ebay after finding it on crutchfield. I forget which model I got, but it is a pioneer, and has Bluetooth. I love it ,and it was really easy to wire up without cutting anything up once I bought the wiring plug from crutchfield. You can probably find the wiring cheaper, but I trusted them for this part.

When I had my Clarion installed, which is a single DIN unit, into the Delica's double DIN space, the installers just put a storage shelf in beneath it to fill out the double DIN space. The shelf/pocket is quite handy for things like sunglasses &c.. I believe they are readily available on E-Bay and such. This one is from http://www.nexxia.co.uk .
