Hey Mark and all,

I'm sure everyone just like me enjoy the rash of recent posts from Bruce of "How To" with all the nifty pictures:

-Driver's side floorpan removal
-Upper ball joints replacement
-Washer bottle
-L300 vehicle ID
-Brake update...

Should they deserve their own section for ease of search? A "How To" section (but pictures should almost be imperative for all of us visual people... :-) ) I'm sure we could all add on to this but personally really enjoy those step-by-step instructions.

Just a thought.

WOW!! Thanks for the compliment!!

I'm planning quite a few more guides soon, so any suggestions welcome? Some I've already decided on, but I'm all ears if anyone is wanting a particular guide?

I'll be changing all the wheel bearings (AGAIN!!) in the next week, so will have a full photo guide on how to do that. I'll also 'update' the balljoint guide because that was made in a bit of a hurry in answer to someone elses 'emergency' query!!

Other guides planned for real soon:

Other dashboard removal guides (radio surround, centre pod removal, glovebox) - all in one!
Front speaker replacement
Rear speaker replacement
Converting from Auto free-wheel hubs to manual hubs
Changing the thermostat
Adjusting the alternator & power steering belts

Other guides planned for a month or so time:

Fitting longer shackles (1"-2" lift)
Changing the shock absorbers
Cutting/trimming the front arches for bigger wheels
Seat layouts/combinations

Obviously some of these things are well known to many, but they may be of some help to people who haven't done much work on their vehicle yet want to give it a go?

I always look at it like this: If I am doing a job on my car, why not photograph the process and share it with someone else....but shown in a way I would like to be shown if I had never done it before? (if that makes sense)

Any suggestions welcome?

Bruce.

You're welcome Bruce, thanks again!

Here's a few "How-To" with pictures that I've found along the way. We might be able to improve on some of them (by keeping it technical & step-by-step and removing all the none related discussion in the posts) but they are quite good to me so before re-inventing the wheel we could see what's already out there...

-Front break removal:

-AutoFreeHubs Removal and WheelBearing Adjustment:

-COOL BOX REMOVAL (see Dec 8 post from Bruce) & INTERIOR LEAKS

In any case, if we go ahead with "How-To" section, we should break down each topic on their own instead of what I just did here and put 3 in 1 post... more user friendly.

And thanks for community.webshots.com for making these instructions readily available...

The Technical FAQ and Repairs section of the wiki: http://wikrad.com/delica/index.cgi?tech ... nd_repairs

Includes many articles already. Perhaps that would be the best place for fairly static articles. Then others can update them with new pictures or details.

I agree the wiki is probably the best place to this stuff, just need to get people trained to enter all their new stuff there and to look there when in need of info :)
