I'm told the bus will be out of the shop today so I'll be there.

Ian, I'll plan on meeting you at the Richmond Co-op around 8:30 unless you would rather just meet at the Truckstop on HWY 1 and 22X. We'll probably grab a quick breakfast to fuel up the kids at either place.

Hey John!
Glad to hear you are back up and running and you will be able to come out to play!
As far as meeting goes, it's entirely up to you. I will keep the same plan to leave the Coop at 9:15 and pick up any others who wish to meet at the truckstop at 10:00-ish.

Those who wish to meet at the truckstop should be there before 10am as we will only make a quick stop there for anyone who needs to pick anything up and to meet others there and have a quick BS session. We will not leave the truckstop before 10 so if we are not there by that time, we are running behind. If for any reason someone is delayed, you can call or text me at 587-888-7529 (587 is the new Calgary area code).

No need to reply, just a little shocked, and google informs me that Alberta in fact now has 4 area codes. I should probably watch the news once in a while.

Just wanted to thank all those who came out today! We had 6 Delicas and one Pajero on our excursion and it seemed everyone had a great time. We had myself and Linda (Jaggedfish), NoDelie, Carp, Madmazda, Jungle Jon, Jhelzer and Brandon (sorry can't remember your online name).

Linda and I had an awesome time out there sharing the experience with everyone. Awesome company! We first tried the Trans Alta Road but were finally turned around at the point of a deep snow drift across the road. We then circled the wagons and had lunch and some tonguewagging. After lunch we travelled out to Waiparous and trekked along the roads out there in the deep snow. Awesome day!

Thanks so much to Dennis and Deedee for leading our travels. Their knowledge of the area made the day much more enjoyable and they led us way back into the bush where I would've been hesitant to travel as I wasn't familiar with the area.

A huge thanks to Marv for having tools with him and allowing me to use them to tear apart my t-case shifter which actually broke off inside the top of the t-case leaving me stuck in 4WD-locked. Thanks also to Rob for his support during the McGyver session that allowed me to disengage the diff lock and continue and enjoy the second half of the day.

Sara and the kids and I all had a great time today. What a fantastic introduction to the Delica's abilities and the community!

We got stuck once in some deep snow I should have tackled more aggressively and everyone was great hoisting me out. I feel kinda bad that we blasted off and left everyone behind. The advice and the company and the help digging out was very much appreciated.

We waited at the highway intersection for a bit but I assume everyone else parked and said goodbye at the trail head.

I hope everyone managed to make it home safe and sound without any more mechanical issues and we look forward to doing it again! (First thing my wife asked when we hit the road again was "How often do they go out? I'm not working next weekend." I guess she had a good time!)

No worries on blasting off ahead John. Anybody that can put in a 12 hour night shift then come out with the family for an enitre day in the bush and still be smiling at the end of it has my vote for hero of the day. Linda told me Sara was even driving for some of it... nice!

We did stop at the trailhead and NoDelie and Carp attempted a couple of hill climbs and we said our goodbyes at that point.

It was great to have your family out and JungleJon's son as well, plus Deedee and Linda. Made for a great day that everyone can participate in. We will certainly do it again very soon.

I will start a thread in the Member Trips section shortly so we can share our photos.

I am just about ready for another trip out. I got my lift kit installed last week and bought a new set of bigger tires. When it warms up a bit I will get the tires installed. Too cold to be wheeling out there in the bushes or working on the van. Mid march will look better. Here is a look at the trans alta road.

I too am almost ready! T-case shifter is replaced and works like a charm so now I can really try the bus out for it's abilities. I will look at my schedule and see what is happening. Excited about getting back out there.
