2.5 TDI Cracked Head

Post by rwaterhouse »

Hi;

I have a 91 LWB 2.5 TDI Pajero, which I have owned for about 2 years. Last winter it started blowing combustion gases through the coolant overflow bottle and it steadily got worse. Finally started blowing huge clouds of steam when it was idling and using lots of coolant. I put it away for the winter and then this summer tried using Thermagasket to fix it. It actually worked for a couple months but now it is getting worse again. I am located in Wetaskiwin, Alberta (just south of Edmonton) and am looking for a good shop where I can take this truck. I am torn as I do love the truck and I have a fair amount of money in it already, but I cannot justify spending thousands to fix it. Any recommendations or suggestions are welcome.

Cheers
Roger
