You are advertising. There is no mention of Hyundai injectors you are selling in this thread, neither is it implied as a reference.

This is a discussion on injector setup, not injector sales.

When you (original poster) receive a set of brand new injectors, it is a wise thing to do to check the spray pattern and psi before installing them.

If the spray pattern is off and/or the pressure is off regardless of the condition (used/new) of the injectors themselves, then excessive black smoke, loss of power and poor fuel economy can result.

If you go to ADP (one of the best injector service shops in western Canada), they will tell you the same thing. These are people that do this for a living, not a dealer or generic diesel mechanic.

Sorry to jack the thread, but if you remove and disassemble your injectors, will they need to be set up again? Or can you put everything back together as is and still be in factory territory.

They will need to be setup again.

To do it properly they should all be shimmed and balanced to make sure all run the same and it's not something you can really do without the right equipment.

There is alot to the job.

I have seen a before and after spray pattern (Mr. Edwin from CVI - thanks for the teachings) from my injectors and it was night and day. They were disassembled, cleaned and the reassembled. Then the cracking pressure and spray pattern are adjusted on a special machine that pumps fuel through and displays psi pressure and spray pattern.

This process is the same for rebuilding injectors, cleaning injectors, replacing the nozzles and before installing a brand new purchased injector.

New or used, it has to be setup unless you can have a guarantee from the shop selling you the new one that is has been setup by them to the manufacture specifications.

So since I pulled my injectors (factory), ripped them apart and cleaned any carbon build up ect, I should bring them into a shop to be re-set?

If they are all cleaned up keep them lubed in a jar of diesel until you install them.
You will want new washers.

Picked up new injectors at (9:00) today had our shop mech look at them for spray pattern and at what psi they spray (9:45) they were all close. He said they dont need to be set up any diff than they are now:-) Got home and started pulling old ones, and i f#@k*$g busted my fuel rail
so off to the parts truck i go, pulled the spare one off ok, new ones in, start blead alls good by 11:30.........or is it? I went for a drive and wow more power than i ever remember havin but whats this i see, a little trail of black smoke So i pull off to the side of the road look to see if any fuel pooling at injectors, None. I start it and a puff of black then a small real small puff of white check the air filter and box for good fit and it's ok
So why???? it just dont like me. Now im at my ropes end with this truck, it must have something to do with magic. anyone no a good wizzard?

Mind me asking where you got the injectors from and cost? I was looking on eBay some time ago - zexel or something like that. I need to do this soon.

no ebay on this one, I bought them from RSI through Steven 604-544-5120 for me he was great to deal with, and it was 440.00 with the gasket set. worth the money i think

just thought id update the smoke and power issue....
power is great, and the smoke is getting better, I think there was a buildup of crap that might of needed to burn off or something like that, so i kinda jumped the gun on gettin pissy with my truck Its nice to not have to baby the throtle off the lights anymore

We have IP/glow plugs frequent-issue season came up already.
Except starting issue, most problems are related to fuel delivery system as they are inevitable for mechanical injection pump.
Try to do easy/cheap way troubleshot first and take care of your IP if problem occurs continuously.
There's nothing we can do about faulty/leaky IP but to get fully rebuilt in some day after production.

It will be good to replace injectors with full gaskets when you are affordable.
