Pajero section

Post by FredVenne »

Good morning folks,

I sent a PM to Mark, asking him if it would be possible to have a Pajero section with more define categories like; Technical Info/Docs, Petrol, Diesel etc. Haven't had a response yet.

So now, I am asking to all Pajero owners if they would like such a thing and to all the Delica owners if this would be a blasphemy to them.

I understand that this site has been created originally for the Delicas, but since the time is moving forward, more and more people are buying JDM's, I think to sub-categorise the Pajero section would be a nice touch (since it is consider a close cousin to the Delicas...)

I would like to have your thoughts on this subject,

Thank you!

Wow, no interest in this matter... I guess we'll leave it the way it is.

So much for progress...

At the moment the Pajeros are grouped in with the two Delica categories. There are also other sites that deal only with Pajs. We could build a more extensive Paj section if there is a big enough call for it.

Last time we got a call to build a section was for what turned into the dedicated category reference forums but the response from it has been minimal. If you wish I could build you a couple of Paj page sub-forums and see where it goes? Regarding technical info you'd have to help me with the procuring of data to load into the said new pages. We could also extend the dedicated category reference forums with a Paj section, which would be more in keeping with the site.

Well I think it would be great. I have not seen any interest from any Pajero owners, which I don't get. I do have a whole lot of service manuals and tech info as PDF files that I bought and would like to put'em up for grab by anyone. But again, it does not look that ANY pajero owners really care.

Sorry, but I am a disappointed.

So if you want, you could add Pajero in the FAQ with the Delica's. And let me know how to give you the documents so you can upload them.

And in Pajero, if you could split the section into Diesel and Petrol. That would be a good start.

Thanks for that,

Fred

I 3rd the motion! Although I don't get around to visiting here as often as I'd like, hence the "lack of interest". It's not that I don't appreciate the efforts of the community, it's more that I just don't get onto the computer that often :P

Before I build this (these) page(s), What exactly are we looking for? Currently the Pajero page is the tech-talk page. In the case of the dedicated reference forums ~ the ideal is that if someone comes up with a good idea to fix or build something then it is promoted in the "Proposed Thread Forum", followed by discussion then posted as an acceptable "How-to" article.

Another question: How different is the 2.5 Paj from the 2.8 Paj? In the case of the Delicas ~ the only thing that the L300 & L400 share in common is the word "Delica" and the oil cap, the platform is completely different. I get the sense that the general platform of the Pajeros is more or less the same. Please correct me if I'm wrong and not that I mean to sound like a Starwagon snob ~ just never really needed to understand the Pajeros. Should we have two tech pages, one for each generation?

We need to talk about this so we can shape these pages to the optimal configuration. After all, this is a community.

After there had got to be enough of us driving around, I had always felt it would be better served if we could have our own forum - similar to Delica Canada, but wholly separate - or at least have a section of our own on a JDM site (one for Delicas, one for Pajeros, one for Patrols, all under a unifying JDM Canada home/front page).

I don't know much about the diesel models. What I know is that there are differences. Here is a list of all the models. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Pajero

I think it should be simple as a start; Diesel and Petrol and a section in Technical Reference. I have loads of manuals of different years to provide.

In terms of the diesel, I think the members of this forum and owners should engage the conversation. They are the ones who knows their trucks.

We need more interaction from you guys!

Thanks Falco,

Maybe it would be easier to categorize by generation of Pajero/Montero. Just because one runs diesel and one runs gas doesn't mean info cant be shared between the two as most parts are the same.

Thanks,

Eric
