the hose leading down from the oil filter to, I'm not sure what, (turbo?) has a hole in it. It must have been like this for a couple of days judging by the trail of oil in the parking lot and the engine dipstick showing no oil. The engine is fine. I took a picture but it is to large to post and I can't figure out how to resize it. (iPad and no computer)
Changing this hose looks simple, but I don't have anything to crimp the line with. Don't really know what to do. I leave tomorrow for vacation. Not back until the 17th.
Anyone know where I can find a hose and clamps? Has anyone had this problem?
Oil leak.

Re: Oil leak.
There are 3 hoses in this area that can cause trouble. From highest on the engine to lowest:
-Oil drain from turbo to block (rubber tube with two springy hose clamps)
-Oil feed from block to vacuum pump on back of alternator (Crimped together pressure tube, attached with a banjo bolt to the vacuum pump)
-Vacuum pump oil drain into sump (large rubber tube with two springy hose clamps)
I'm guessing it's your oil feed to the vacuum pump that's leaking- it's the only one that's under enough pressure to empty the sump quickly. If you're really lucky, the banjo bolt has just come loose. Otherwise you'll need to buy a replacement.

Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

Re: Oil leak.
That's exactly it. It looks like I need to take off the filter to get to the other end of the line. Should be straight forward, no?

Re: Oil leak.
That sounds about right- removing the filter should make the top bolt more accessible, but it's probably going to be messy either way.
When you get your new pipe, get new copper washers too- the old ones *can* be re-used if they're in good condition, but you should anneal them first. It's safer to just fit new ones.
