Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Fuel Pickup on Rear Tank

Post by philmeup1 »

Hello folks,

I recently posted on here about a hard start problem, and then I noticed a fuel leak on the rear tank. I had the tank removed and had a bladder put in it. But when my mechanic put it all back, he said it's still leaking from the fuel pickup at the top of the tank, (not the fuel gauge sender unit)

This is all new to me, so I went online to see about getting a replacement. But I can't seem to find anything. Perhaps I'm not putting in the right key words in my search? Is this part called something else? Is this part still available?

Any insight would be much appreciated as I'm currently without wheels until I get this sorted.

Cheers,

Phil

Hi Phil,

Here's a link to the fuel tank parts (for my model, anyway). Maybe you can see the part...

Thanks for the quick response Alex. My mechanic brazed the holes in the pickup unit and managed to get it to stop leaking fuel. But it's running poorly now, difficulty idling & stalls out when braking. He's going to poke around with it again tomorrow and see what he can do. I'm wondering if maybe he crossed the lines on top of the tank or something..?..?? He's a top shelf mechanic, however my Delica is the only one he's ever wrenched on.

I'd like to purchase a new pickup unit at some point. Thank's for sending the link. I'll keep searching for one online. Perhaps I can get the whole unit from amayama.com or something.
