Dealing with CVI

Post by nxski »

Has anyone else had trouble getting information from CVI recently?  I've phoned and talked to this new receptionist 3 times now (on separate days) and it seems as though my message has still not been received. The guy is nice enough but doesn't seem to speak English very well (it took about 10 tries to get him to understand "re-index"). This in and of itself isn't really a big problem although I'm assuming it's a term used quite a bit at that shop and it must hinder the copying down of names. I'm starting to feel like I'm dealing with Mardy, I've asked to be called back regarding pricing for work being done October 3rd three times now with no record of my previous calls being made.  I finally said I needed to know by tomorrow as I need to figure how much of a loan to take out for my trailer and the work being done. I was finally told when I would receive a call back...today. Well, no such luck. Does anyone know if Butch is away and maybe that's the reason?  CVI is still my number one choice and I find Butch wonderful to deal with and the work to be excellent but the customer service seems to be going downhill.  I need to know by tomorrow a rough estimate of cost so, along with calling again tomorrow, I suppose I'll try here as well...

Does anyone know what CVI charges for: (including part costs unless otherwise mentioned)

- re-index and crank torsion bars
- replace lower control arm bushings
- alignment
- tighten belts
- coolant flush
- find and repair oil leak ($500 budgeted as I know there's no way this can be quoted)
- check fluids
- Install pyro (I already have the part)
- full check-up (I'm guessing the same as pre-purchase inspection and probably includes the fluid check!?)

Hi Nick,

Thanks for your posting. I tried calling you late this afternoon but you can't be reached either. Albert is my new guy helping out in the shop. His english is too slang I guess so it might be harder to understand sometimes so pardon us for that. He did give me your note and request but I was just a bit swamped in the shop and figured I'll call you later today. I guess you might be busy too.

Anyway, here's what you're asking about:

1. - re-index and crank torsion bars $85 includes leveling up
2. - replace lower control arm bushings $170 per side includes press in/out of bushings
3. - alignment $105
4. - tighten belts $55
5. - coolant flush $80 includes coolant
6. - find and repair oil leak ($500 budgeted as I know there's no way this can be quoted) WILL NEED TO CHECK IT OUT
7. - check fluids FOC (free of charge)
8. - Install pyro (I already have the part) $125
9. - full check-up (I'm guessing the same as pre-purchase inspection and probably includes the fluid check!?) FREE OF CHARGE

Again, my apologies for not replying promptly after your call. And Welcome Back :)

Butch

I must now eat my words. Thank you for the phone call and a bouquet for the after hours service!   Sorry for not responding, I accidentally ran the border and was having my vehicle searched as you called. I then proceeded to go out of cell service (I won't actually be home until the 2nd). Albert is pardoned, I did call 2 different days but I'll attribute the lapse of communication to having just started the job. Please welcome him for me!

Thank you for the information, I'll see you soon! As always, CVI has a great explanation for any potential faults in communications and goes above and beyond to insure customer satisfaction! A huge bouquet for this one, another for all your work in the past and I'm assuming yet another for work about to be done. Sorry for doubting you!

:-) :-) :-)
