Any reports on Tyeeimports in Campbell River? They seem to have lots of Delicas and Pajeros and I'm thinking of driving up for a look. Anybody have contact info for Bonsai motors?\

I guess it is not a problem at all when you drop by at local dealers (do not want to call them stealers haha).
Take whatever you want to test drive, to your mechanic and see by your own eyes. It is a huge advantage compare shopping over internet.
Good luck!

tadao,
Have you gone through the previous 6 pages? In the earlier pages there was a feedback or two on Tyeeimports, not very favorable...

Re: Delica Dealer / Importer Ratings and Feedback
I would suggest that Tyee is more misunderstood than a dodgy place to make a purchase. Grant, the owner, makes no bones about the fact he does not service his vehicles beyond compliance. His prices reflect this. Anyone buying from Tyee will be told by Grant that the vehicle will require a proper mechanical refit and that ccautos is a good place to go. When we were shopping we stopped in there and though it took a looooong time to get service and when it did come it was kinda lukewarm, Grant had no issue at all with ccautos or any other mechanic having a look-see inspection at anything we might be interested in before hand. Seems fair to me. I would not hesitate to buy there, but would factor in the cost of a ccautos refit and make a beeline there straight away after making the deal. Tyee does generally have a good selection on the lot. We ended up buying from Bonsai Motors are were happy with our deal - we still went straight to ccautos for the refit though. Bonsai's lot is empty and for lease now, though his web page is still up and I think he is working out of his home. He was always more of a import upon request kinda operation anyway, so I guess he simply that found the generally empty car lot was an unnecessary expense. Check his web page at: http://bonsaimotors.com/index.php?id=2391

I'd suggest the search function (top right hand corner). Search "Tyee" because they've been mentioned several times before in threads. Good luck!Tadao wrote:Any reports on Tyeeimports in Campbell River? They seem to have lots of Delicas and Pajeros and I'm thinking of driving up for a look. I tried to check the craigslist post re: maximum overdrive and it was removed. Anybody remember what it said? Thinking of shopping there for a Pajero, and have seen a few favorable reviews of this dealer.

I do remember.
Angry owner of Elf shared that he got his truck without warranty, with some trouble and MO refused to deal with it, moreover did not return ph calls etc.

Hey Mark,
I just purchased a Delica from Max Overdrive so I may be able to help you out.
Lindsay at Max OD is very helpful but they are NOT vehicle experts like Mardy or Glen. If you are going to buy from them make sure you do your homework first. Know exactly what kinds of things you should be looking for and then check the vehicle over with a fine tooth comb.
If you find anything that is not as it should be bring it to their attention before you buy and see what they'll do about it. My deli needed an alignment so they dropped the price to cover it. Other than that and some very minor tweaks, everything seems to be as they said.
I did notice that their vehicles vary widely from quite good, to not so much. They seem to be priced accordingly, so if it seems like too good of a deal, dig a bit and find out why.
Bottom line, your buying a used vehicle so it won't be perfect, but do your homework and you may get a good deal from them. If your uncomfortable doing the homework before buying, go see Mardy at Amazing Auto or Shogo at Japanoid. From what I can see their stuff is ALL good.
Also, another Ontario owner bought a Delica from MaxOD last August and has been very happy with the van.
Cheers,
Shane.

Top marks to Mustang Connection. I have purchased two vans now from Barry and crew (all family, including his brother in law, who if from Japan originally) all are active in the business, have fun with it, and work hard at it.
Good product, long time in the business, very knowledgeable and fair. They keep a very good stock of vehicles, parts, parts vans, and have been very good about taking care of a few minor issues that came up.

Re: Delica Dealer / Importer Ratings and Feedback
Bought Duke there, Shinji (?) and Mayu both are very nice people and Shinji is a Mitsubishi trained mechanic. A little on the slow side for service, but it's fixed right the first time. And for me, a diesel mechanic who knows Delicas 20 mins away, that's great. Two thumbs up!flyfishn wrote:Has anyone dealt with Japan Auto World in Abbostford???
