What is this and where does it go?

Mitsubishi Delica L400 production commenced in 1994 -- After much anticipation, the L400 arrived on Canadian Soil in 2009!

What is this and where does it go?

Post by CREGAN »

Hey all. I was checking the oil today and I noticed this just flopping around in the engine bay. It is on a mounting bracket so I would assume it should be mounted somewhere. It is sitting just behind the air box. Any ideas what and where? I have noticed some rattling around lately while driving and I thought it was just ice, but i think I found it. Even if you don't know can you look under your hood and see if you can find where it goes, and maybe help me out with the missing bolt size too?

Thanks- Craig

What year is your L400? From the electrical schematics, some had DRL relays mounted under the fuse box.

Sorry- it is a 94 Super. I think Mardy wired in the DRL's and I don't recall seing this piece flopping around until now. It is kind of right under the master cylinder.

Lol mine is exactly the same...weird.

Part of Mardy's award winning pre-sale service most likely. "OK man I unattach this for you and it shakes like a tambourine and make free music...no other dealer do this service even if you pay HST man." :-D

From the Russky club`s L400 electrical schematic - shop manual:
L400 OEM DRLs.PNG
L400 OEM DRLs.PNG (95.7 KiB) Viewed 4092 times
Diagram E shows what appears to be those relays

Mine does not have them, but whoever set up my original DRLs tapped power to drive the bulbs directly out of the wiring harness and then wrapped the whole mess up in electrical tape.

I ended up building my own harness with my own relays and running a switch into the cabin. But I read thru these schematics a lot.

hi, craig,
that one is for some sensor.
it was like that before when I got it from japan.
some vehicle I got from japan is like that.
I put drl thru the fuse box but even my guys who install it never even touch it.
later I found out they take it out from japan not me.
so basically just take out the bolt under the fuse box and put this in between.
problem or wiered thing fix.
hope this help
cheers;
