L400 alternator/battery?

Post by Mitsuballistic »

Hi all.

I have a Deli L400 that sadly won't start.

Lights/radio/etc work when key is in the ignition. But the engine will not turn over when I try to start it up. Mind you, it is trying (pathetically)... it sounds like the starter is in slow motion. And it just dies out before it can turn turn over and fire the motor up. During the past couple of weeks, the starter did work, albeit feebly. But today, it's a no-go.

A few weeks ago, facing the same situation, I gave the Deli a boost, but the local mechanic ran the numbers on my battery and declared it to be fine. He suspected there may be an alternator issue.

Thoughts or relatable experiences? Thanks as always...

Clean ALL your battery terminal connections with baking powder and water. Then check. If there is still a problem check the connections at the starter. Still no help get the charging system looked at. If the batteries were fine (and still are) it is an alternator issue most likely.
