The hypocrisy is really funny.

Rhd are fully legal to drive in ontario yet no companies will touch me because i am a new customer.
The general line i have been given is that i am welcome to insure my other 2 vehicles and that once i have been with them for 6 months i can see about insuring the delica. Only as a courtesy .
Wtf is that ???? Magically after 6 months the delica and i become safe to insure.
We are coming into the winter months here in ontaio and i will need the delica the most !!!! I could care less about the summer months...

Its a 3 car deal and these guys are turning down 4500 bucks a year of income because my head is 24 inches to the right !!! But a 16 year old can go get a 1000cc crotch rocket no problem !!

Insurance is a pain in Ontario.

We have our 91 Delica with The Guarantee Company through Olsen Sottile Insurance Brokers in Niagara Falls (905 357-2140). I did have to get an appraisal done so they would know what Cletus is worth officially. I dealt with John Mastrandrea, seemed ok, it's running about $1700/yr.

I have a 74 Beetle insured there as well, however we have an Accord & 3 motorcycles all insured elsewhere in my never ending search for affordable insurance.

Best of luck.

Eric

I can't believe what I am reading about RHD in Ontario ! I'm from Alberta and RHD's are everywhere !

In 2008, Allstate refused to insure my 1991 Isuzu Elf 2 ton RHD. The Alberta Superintendent for Insurance phoned them to tell them they had to. Allstate refused again. He phoned Allstate again and told them that I am coming down for a Pink Card, and if you refuse him, I am PULLING ALLSTATES LICENSE to Operate in Alberta !!!

I'm a little puzzled by your replies and issues with RHD insurance in Ontario. I put that very phrase into Google and the second hit is http://www.rightdrive.ca/rhd-insurance-ontario/ Following that link takes me to a Vaughan based website that says its selling RHD insurance.

Two links down from there is: http://www.canadianunderwriter.ca/featu ... and-drive/. This informative piece written for Ontario insurance underwriters sure seems like the exact piece of added information one would place with one's broker in order to clarify the RHD insurance issues from an industry perspective.
