Después de inventarnos novecientas noventa y nueve maneras de llenar el depósito de la furgoneta, después de 9 años en la ruta, ahora, por fin,

Hola cuatreros!!!

Hace un mes y medio que nuestra rutina va del hostal en el norte de Colombia al centro comercial para entrar en internet y del supermercado del centro comercial al hostal. El calor en las calles, que ya recorrimos veinte veces, es tremendo. Enciendo la tele, ya nos pusimos al día con las noticias del mundo, los documentales de History Channel, Las Vegas, CSI, Criminal Minds, Mujeres Desesperadas y la historia completa del Vallenato en el Caribe. Los policías nos saludan en la calle, y eso es mala señal. Eso significa que ya eres un vecino.

Hace un mes y medio que estamos varados en un pueblo grande llamado Riohacha. Hace un mes y medio que lo único que hacemos es escribir y mirar la tele, beber cerveza y escribir. El barco que debía partir el 15 de septiembre, luego el 24, luego el 29, sale el 16 de octubre hacia Panamá. También salen barcos desde Cartagena, pero la gran diferencia es que este, nos lleva gratis.

Y si, al final cruzamos de Colombia a Panamá en un buque de carga, y durante la inspección, un policía antidrogas colombiano se puso a cantar para entretenernos... espectacular... luego nos interceptaron los antidrogas yankis en aguas internacionales... bueno, muchas cosas...

Hace unos días pisé caca de mono. Caca de mono natural, de Costa Rica.
Al principio, hice lo que haría cualquier humano, insultar a la familia del primo primate. Después, me dí cuenta que debía agradecerle. ¿Cuánta gente en todo el mundo aparte de Tarzán habrá tenido la oportunidad de pisar una hermosa y fragante mierda de mono? ¿Cuántos habrán tenido la desfachatez de escribir sobre ello?
Tremendo lo de hoy… ¿o prefieren que les hable de Santa Claus?
La gente normalmente se enoja cuando pisa mierda (de mono, de perro o de gato), pero es algo especial, algo que deberíamos ver como una inversión a largo plazo en donde vas acumulando saldo para el día en que realmente necesites una suerte gorda. Como cuando hicimos dedo en la orilla del Caribe colombiano y conseguimos un barco de bandera boliviana que nos llevo a Panamá desde un puerto desconocido. Eso sí, la policía antidrogas colombiana nos hizo cantar…
Recuerda, este 2010 invierte en la suerte, ¡pisa toda la mierda que puedas! ¡Felices fiestas!

Si todo marcha como esperamos, a mediados de marzo estará en nuestras librerías amigas de España.

Por fin volvemos a casa, ese sitio con ruedas de 4 metros cuadrados, después de dos meses de trabajo intenso en Barcelona para que nuestro nuevo libro, EL LIBRO DE LA INDEPENDENCIA, esté listo y se pueda conseguir en la mayoría de las librerías de España.
El resultado vale la pena. Ya tenemos los primeros comentarios de gente conocida y desconocida, gente que no nos debe nada, que se lo ha devorado en una semana. Y vamos, eso está bueno, eso es un piropo. En el enlace de El libro de la independencia también están los comentarios.
Los próximos meses estaremos metidos de lleno en nuestra educación mexicana, sólo nos tomaremos un paréntesis, allá por julio, para volver a Guatemala y Belice, cuentas pendientes. Y luego, directo hacia el norte, costa oeste de Estados Unidos y Canadá hacia Alaska.

Hello Canada!
It has been a lot of miles since we knew there were a place where our Mitsubishi L300 4x4 van/house/bookstore would find it's road brothers and sisters...
And now, after overlanding southern europe, middle east, Africa and all south and central america during the last 11 years, we are arriving in Canada on our way to Alaska and Inuvik...
It would be great to share some stories of the road somewhere in Vancouver... we read there will be a Delica swap mill there on the 25th of june... and on the 20th of june is our 11th anniversary living on the road...
