Hi Folks;
Thanks in advance for reading my post. Hopefully this will generate some useful discussion for me and others.
Like Muk (see a previous similar post on finding starter parts), I'm not finding my part number for the starter. I have a 1993 L300 with 5 digits HSRXT
In the link: http://www.partsbase.org/mitsubishi/del ... 1986-1999/, I get these images. I'm not sure how to find my '93 in there (for the complete starter assembly).
For example in Image 1 and 2, for the starter assembly, I see for part number MD164977 a period from 1989 12.3 - 1990. 07.3 (no 1993 implied?). Also, per Falco's advice (and thank you for doing this Falco on behalf of so many of us!), I have gone to the jdm parts catalogue but get an error before I can proceed (error message image).
So some questions abound.
=========================
1) Am I in the wrong place for the partsbase for my7 '93 L300?
2) If not, am I interpreting the images incorrectly? (i.e., is my model implied)
3) Does anyone simply know part numbers and alternate part numbers (i.e. Montero, etc....) for my 1993 have a 1993 L300 P35 with 5 digits HSRXT (Vin is P35W0414271). I remember there was a parts list with prices and item number floating around here.
4) What other questions should I be asking to hone in on this part?
Peace
New Deli
p.s. I tried to attach 4 images, only one showed.
Also, in my current research, this is what I'm finding through epic parts

Have a look at this Russian Site:
https://www.megazip.ru/zapchasti-dlya-a ... p35w-19993
Scroll down 8 lines to your model (HSRXT). Click on that and you go here:
https://www.megazip.ru/zapchasti-dlya-a ... rxt-624873
Up in the very top left corner (next to where it says 'MegaZip') you can select 'en' to translate (unless you can actually read Russian).
Starter parts are in the second row, far left.
Its at this point it becomes kind of vague.
It shows 4 different part #'s for the starter for your application. But it doesn't specify what the difference is in the starters.
MD072654
MD156986
MD164977
MD344182
Hope this helps somewhat.

Re: Starter needed 1993 L300 with 5 digits HSRXT
Thanks so much izack98 (and Falco before)!
-- izack98 that is a really cool site, and with prices (which are high of course).
I'm going to gamble twice:
1) on part number DRS3036 which corresponds to two of the starters
2) on a $50 used Ebay item (said to be in good condition)
Next question, how does one remove the starter (other than carefully... with prayers said, with a sense of humour, hiring someone, asking the right person, etc.)?
Peace

Hi JBSOC, when you get to the JDM Online Catalogue, don't enter the code (HSRXT), enter the frame number, which you'll find under the little hatch between the driver's seat and the door:jbsocdelica wrote:Hi Folks;

Enter that number on your wagon into the Mitsubishi field and all the stock OEM/PNC numbers for your wagon will be accessible.

Re: Starter needed 1993 L300 with 5 digits HSRXT
I finally found the link to the JDM Parts Catalogue. For some reason I couldn't find it in the FAQ section.
Because I was curious, I entered your chassis # P35W-0414271 and navigated to the starter assembly. It shows OEM part # MD164977 as the one that fits your Delica
(1993.05.1 - 1994.03.3 HSRXT9 < CHAMONIX/JASPER/L-EDITION/ACT.)
Pretty cool site.

It's in the thread: "Useful Links For Vehicle Identification Purposes" with the other links. The thread is in "Delica FAQ Section" (second line down). Glad you managed to find it anyway... smiles.

Re: Starter needed 1993 L300 with 5 digits HSRXT
Way cool, thanks to all, FalcoColumbarius; izack98; Muk138; punkrawker and the readers who are there in spirit.
Yes Falco, that was cool to life up the tab, and it exactly corresponded to my VIN on my registration as it turns out.
So my next step will be taking the old one out and putting in the $50 used one. Atlas, I have no idea how to do this. I'm starting to comb this and the UK site for directions / reference and will post them here in this note when I find them, or perhaps someone has detailed photos / directions and / or links.

Update: 1/2016
Had mechanic put in the used $50 starter. Works like a charm!!! Thank you everyone, I really appreciate it.
Next update:
Here's a link to analogous parts:
https://infopart.org/delco-remy-drs3036-part
And when I played in that site, some new starters were under $50 U.S. Hmmmm, thought I had a great deal, now I'm left a little wanting. Actually, I am pretty happy ($61.50 with shipping).
I love this cross referencing thing. I once had to replace a camshaft gear for a Mercedes 400e, from Germany and any North American dealer, about $450 - $600. Through an analogous part (Febi 25026 from UK for $71 U.S. including shipping). And I have a cool alternator story for Deli with same idea. I have to go back to my notes, but it was $190 for a much more powerful Hyundai remanufactured one.
