The oil light crapped out on me this week. Flickered on and scared the crap outta me and then went off. I pulled over and checked the oil level: all good. So under the van I went yesterday and reconnected the wire, also the 4WD indicator wire 'cause I was under there anyway. All good :)
I also noticed a puddle in the passenger area after a hard rain a couple weeks ago, after installing the rubber flooring. I guess its always done that but just soaked into the carpet before now. So I tackled the front panel leak issue.

I took the week off work to rebuild the Injector pump, do an oil change, install new shocks. Figured it would be a two day job to do the IP but I managed to stretch it out to six. Oil change and shocks a bit later I guess...

Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

Hey there! I'm in desperate need of swapping out my exhaust manifold gasket. I have the gasket on hand but wondering if you have any tips on doing it myself. Seems strait forward but ppl have mentioned bolts breaking in the head etc

Exhaust manifold bolts breaking is pretty common due to the repeated heating and cooling. You'll want to soak them with penetrant while hot and let cool. I'd recommend being prepared for the worst. Purchase the bolts and nuts, have a drill and taps on hand, bolt extractors (though I generally find they don't work worth a darn) in case you need them. Take your time, you might have to work the nuts back and forth, don't put an impact on them and pound away.
Good luck.

Worst case: Helicoil threaded inserts. An actually easy solution to a heart stopping problem. (If your heart does stop, the rest is no longer a problem...)

Today I am hunting down more footwell leaks.
The fresh air intake (easier done with the glove box removed)
and the windshield washer posts:
Too bad the super-duper sealant isn't black but I'll repaint the whole area someday...
Big rain coming Wednesday, says Environment Canada...we shall see...

Been having starting problems lately. Part of it was the broken wireing, but she still starts slow when she's warm. So I decided to spend Sunday cleaning and to do a refurbishment on the starter motor.
It came out and went back in really easily! Hopefully this fixes my problem, but I bet I'll have to get it professionally rebuilt in October.
