Honey, have you seen my dashboard?

Post by delica 304 »

It all started innocently enough, I was looking to quiet a persistent squeak. I started twisting screws, and before I knew it,

Yikes! Hope you find that pesky dash cricket...
After I developed tinnitus a few years ago those little squeaks and rattles stopped bugging me so much. Hope there are a few other things you can do while you have yer bus apart like that! Thanks for posting - good to see you back here :-)

I was thinking of relocating the car alarm brain as it was poorly installed by Ralph's. I don't think that there will never be a better time!

Can't tell from the photos if those are stock front speakers but if they aren't you should think about changing them out if it is ever in your plans.

Fingers crossed that it all goes back in they way it came out and you don't get more squeaks!

I had previously changed the speakers... The hard way! :-( It was actually easier to remove the dash than it was to replace the passenger speaker! It only took me about 45 minutes to pull the dash, less if I knew before hand that I didn't need to unplug the switches in the dash. All the dash wiring is tied to the rest of the vehicle via quick connects.

An ulterior motive is to investigate relocating the stereo above the vents

Would you mind doing a photo essay on removal and replacement of the front console so we can post it up in FAQ? That would be tres cool if you could do that..... smiles. With some detail shots like where the screws are &c..
