Must be the oil industry but the number of vehicles being up for sale is enormous.
We had put the L400 up for sale thinking it should move alright. Silly wife, something about her and the 2 kids not being able to drive the van so it wasn't fair her vehicle was always in use.
We even had a full mechanical inspection done, replaced crap loads of everything (since we thought we were going to keep it). New A'C compressor, new tires, brakes, sway bars, CV's good, both drive shafts balanced, new rear coils and lift.. everything is amazing. I feel sorry for it. Every morning I drive it a couple blocks to show it off at a different location. I will have to take it for a drive on the highway to get it up to operating temps shortly.
If your looking for an amazing van it's good.
It's shockingly good. Roof bars, ladders, stereo, Remote start, hitch..
<sigh>

That's unfortunate lol. It happened close by here as well where a guy just bought one from a dealer in bc. He's still paying to make it run right. Someone will find this gem

I'm on the hunt for my first Delica... Where are you located? Can you link to your listing?Firesong wrote:Must be the oil industry but the number of vehicles being up for sale is enormous.

Re: Hard to sell L400 Series 2
There are a variety of factors and the downturn in the economy is certainly one of them. Unfortunately, many people are not interested in the perceived risk of owning an uncommon vehicle. I have sold Daihatsu Hijets for the last 5 or 6 years and most parts are 2-3 days from Westshore auto in Victoria (shout out to Todd). It took 3 weeks for the local mechanic to get brake pads that fit my mom's Ford Explorer. Often it is a right hand drive issue where people are not confident they can drive one competently. People are also lazy, they want parts and filters and such at their local parts store and not have to do any legwork to figure stuff out themselves.
But it only takes one guy so hang in there!

Looks like the Delica is sold. Need to get all the extras out and put together. (Spares). Going to a nice couple that sound like are going on some adventures!

Re: Hard to sell L400 Series 2
I also had a friend blow a brake line on a H3 Hummer. GMC doesn't sell them anymore, so apparently they don't need to stock parts. The parts stores don't stock since there weren't that many to begin with!
Funny thing is, they made it a funny shape so you can't just slap on a generic.
That being said, I've seen lots of Pajero's move on Kijiji for the 4-6000 range. Maybe you're just asking too much. I find many Delica's are mildly over priced.
