diesel quality

Post by brewskie »

Anyone know what company produces the highest quality diesel? I would imagine it would vary from company to company......or not.

Cheers

I've had good experience with shell v power diesel, a lot smoother and less valvetrain from what I could tell.

Hi, robert,
used husky or mohawk its the best diesel as the grapite of the diesel is better than chevron , shell, esso & petro canada.
remeber always used additives. if need additives i do have some in stock it runs better & more accelaration & less smoke.
cheers;
Mardy

Mardy is right. Diesel Max from Husky is the best!

Thanks for the replies. The van continues to run great Mardy ,no black smoke at all. You did a great job with all the preventative work. Thanks again.

I usually fill at Co-Op out here in Manitoba. Not sure if you guys out west have them. I believe they get there diesel from Sonic.

I thought maybe if there was something better I would try it.

Cheers

What constitutes "high quality diesel"? I should think that any commercially-available diesel would do the job.

I gas up Gumdrop at a Chevron station near my home. When traveling I use Petro-Canada, Chevron, Husky/Mohawk and Shell. You can't pay at the pump with a Canadian credit card at Shell stations in the U.S. :-(

I am not sure on this.. but i dont think that all of the stations have thier own refinery..
maby golfcart may know..
but i think that thier is only 2 or 3 diesel suppliers.

If this is the case then.. you would need to know who supplies what.

Which changes frequently. The independents buy from anyone who will sell, and the majors will supply each other when short or overstocked. So you pretty much never know where it came from. Probably the Shell V-power will always be Shell, but that's all I'd bet on.
