Contact via email using Delica member emails

Post by Firesong »

I believe the policy is:
Email addresses (collected at registration) are used so that Delica Canada can forward private messages and emails sent from other members. Delica Canada does not share e-mail addresses with other members, or with third parties. Registered users will not receive additional announcements from us about products, services, special deals, and a newsletter.

I do not appreciate getting emails from moderators or people with the information listed above for
personal or such including: "If You Can Support deligate Please Do!" While it may be a good cause this is not the proper way to do it.

Looks like it may have come from the Delica Aussie Website.
Not ours. If so I apologize. I hate when people send me stuff
like this.

"
The following is an email sent to you by an administrator of "Delica Club". If this message is spam, contains abusive or other comments you find offensive please contact the webmaster of the board at the following address:

synergy30@westnet.com.au

Include this full email (particularly the headers).

Message sent to you follows:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cut this out of the full email....
"
Going to look further.
Also if you don't want any emails (just PMs) you can switch it off in your user control panel.
Right now everyone who signed up at delica.ca can send you an email.
synergy30@westnet is usually sent to your email from Delica Club Australia to notify you that either someone has posted in a thread that you are active in or that you have received a PM. I know when I receive a PM a notice from Delica Canada will wind up in my in-box. With DC Aus. I don't post nearly as much as in Del Can so I get notified but if I were to do that with Del Can my in-box would be a mess.
It's the aussie site.
One of the mod's sent out a mass email to support and donate
money to a cause. Not delica related.
Kinda PO'd me.
Ah well,
I did respond back to their patrol ;)
Who knows
ooh did I strike a nerve with that guy. He's the owner of the website
and can do whatever he wants....
"As owner of delicaclub it is my judgement as to what is posted for charitable causes. You have been a member for 9 months, never made a post nor contributed to the forum in any way and have the cheek to tell me I am soliciting for funding for a worthy cause???
I bet you have garnered a fair bit of info from the site from the FREE work put in over years from the members, moderators and myself.
Don't look our way if you ever get the big C! Deliclub is a community that looks out for others, no room for selfish bastards. I have posted your email into the following post: http://www.delicaclub.com/viewtopic.php?p=255685#255685
Cheers
Deaning"
Wow,
I figure a better way of doing what he's doing is simply to post in his general other forum
what he's doing and not email everyone he has on his list. Ah well, not starting a flame
war. Just don't like unsolicited emails coming in.
Time it takes to filter a message to spam box, marking it as a spam source and permanently ensuring you don't get spam from that sender again: less than 2 seconds.
Time it takes to bitch about a single spam email: a lot more than 2 seconds.
Complaining about people sending unsolicited mail is about as productive as complaining about the weather. It won't change a bloody thing. Welcome to the internet, bring an umbrella.
Don't worry. After I signed up at Australian forum a while ago and got the first random email from the admin/moderator, I just moved it to my blacklist. Now it ends up in the trash 8-)
I received the same email a few days ago and just ignored it. What is a big deal? Being a member of another forum means following its rules, not ours as we do not have any. For example, delicaclub.ru has very strict policies regarding over quoting and flooding the forum with nonsense. Aussie forum has different rules and I do not see anything unusual there. Unsolicited emails? I would not make so much noise because of just one weird message from another Delica club.
i just don't understand if you didn't like the email
there is a delete button you know delete the email and get on with your life besides this was the first email sent by the admin in over 3yrs any other emails recieved were an update on threads you had either posted in or watching :-D
as for unsolicited emails you didn't get one when you sigined up you were told you would recieve info regarding the club via email
which it was i am a member of the aussie site
and i had/have a thread about my fundraising efforts for Movember which is a charity orginization that helps raise funds for Mens health and awareness for this
i do however appreciate the extra publicity in my plight to raise funds for this wonderful cause which you have created :-D
i am deligate
and if anyone here would like to support me in my month of movember your support and donations are greatly appriciated
below is a link were you can donate or even just leave a message of encouragment
I thought this was done with.
For the record, this was posted here originally because
I thought the damn email was from this board.
It wasn't.
Then I thought you and I had settled it and all that jazz.
Guess not,
<sigh>
Oh well.
sorry for misunderstanding
you sorted out with the moderater in question
i still however find it hard to understand your problem with a club that you signed up to be a member it's not as though the owner moderater sends these type of messages on a regular basis as said before this has been the first email in over 3yrs and the first ever for a charity cause
i am the person the site owner has sent the message out to help me raise awareness about my plight for donations for this worthy cause
which by the way had a thread which was made a couple of weeks before the email was sent out !!!!
anywho
i guess i must be hard of understanding :shock:
