With a day off I removed my winter "Radiator Cover" ( see page 8 of this thread ) and replaced an interior body panel that wasn't all cracked.
Wanted to do a little more exhaust work but ran out of time. Wanted to enjoy the sun out from underneath the van.

Over yesterday and today I did a couple things:
Put LED lights on the rack, 2 over the sliding door, 1 on the opposite
side and one facing rear. All are turned on/off with a remote that
I had sitting in a box for over a year.
Figured 2 for the side we usually have tents/picnic tables set up,
one on the rear for loading and unloading the boat in the dark
and one on the right because... well I will need it if I didn't put one
there :)

I also bit the bullet and bought new tires. I went with Cooper AT/3
Discoverer 30x9.5R15LT tires. A little bit bigger than the 235/75/15's
I had on it previously. I think the overall diameter is an inch higher.
I moved some of the inner rubber mudflap back on the left passenger
side where it prevents crap from getting on the rad. They fit
great and no rubbing anywhere.
I'm hoping to correct the speedo gauge a bit, it shows me going faster
than I really am.
<edit/update: the speedo is indeed closer.. I am dead on till about 90km,
then at 100km indicated the gps shows 97/98 km - very happy about this)

The rims were measured and they were 6.5 inch so they could fit the
tires without worry.

I bought a used spare to go along with the larger tire and fixed the
rusted out mechanism that lowers the tire basket.
Happy but a little lighter in the pocket book.

I see you've made a few trips to PA for some goodies. Those remotes are really great. I use one for door locks and lights and another with momentary relays I use to operate my boat loader remotely. Are your LED lights form PA as well? I see they're on sale now!

Princess Auto has lots of deals.
I got to test the lights this evening in the dark. They don't spread
out like I was hoping so it's kind of a mix bag there. Part of the appeal
is that they use so little power so they won't drain the batteries
fast. I might add another 2 lights up top, one more on the back
and another on the left side of normal halogen origin. That way I have
the option to go high-power with the van running. Wiring won't be hard
since I have everything already in place for hiding wires and the remote
has two more spots for gadgets. As it is, it's a huge improvement.

Those led lights would make excellent DRL's just to stick on the front
Especially if they are on sale again. I got 2 sets of them for 15$ each a long
time ago, I think they are normally 35$ or so.

My biggest :) is the tires.....
Considering putting up my neons inside the van too.... had them in my
old VW Westie... Can you say... mooooood lighting? (or sexlights lol)
My wife thinks the idea has some merit. I had the interior of my VW
done with Neon Wire which was hidden until... click. I think I still have another
20 feet of it at least... hmm maybe 40 ft.

Hey firesong, where did you route those wires from the lights you put on top? I've always wondered how people wired up those basket or roof rack lights? Is there a typical spot to get the wires to the inside I haven't heard of? Not to de-rail the thread, just been wondering this for a while.....

What did you do TO your Delica today?

Some people will run the wiring inside the tubing of the rack or do something like I did. I used tubing (black) for the wiring then ran it to the left rear corner of the rack. From there to the hinge area of the rear hatch. From there easy enough. I've seen some who drill a hole in the roof and seal it afterwards. I'm not that eager :).

Ahhhhh, finally somewhere to hang my coffee cup without dislocating my shoulder, using a couple of $3.00 MEC bicycle bottle holders.

Huh. That's a clever idea ~ practical yet still retaining some elegance. Good idea, Mark.

Today was the second day of trying to change my crankshaft pulley. I was not really sure it was the funny noise that started off and on about a month ago. I finally decided to remove the skid plate and watch the pulley @ different RPM's and with different alternator loads. The pulley definitely wobbled a little so on to the next step. After a few problems getting the fan off I was on to the belts and the pulley bolt. Using Butch's starter trick the bolt loosed easily. As soon as the belts were off the pulley was very loose. Once I got the bolt out the pulley fell off.
I have looked @ the crankshaft and it appears okay but the pulley keyway is likely 2 to 3 times the width it should be. It appears I was very lucky to persist trying to find the noise. I took a couple pictures to show the pulley and shaft.
