Bearings, Transfer case mount, Shocks, CV boots

Post by Vanislpajero »

So today I decided to do a little work on the Pajero. Was going to tighten up the torsion bars but I found some issues with my truck I didn't know were there. Firstly...Front Bearings...SHOT...I can't believe I drove over 1000 Kms from Vancouver to fort Mcmurray. Second...front Cv Boot is torn...and I was playing in the mud last week too. Thinking that I should probably replace the CV axles anyways...Does the CV axle come with a retaining clip in the box? Anyone know. Cant seem to find information on that one or cv axles either. Third...Transfer case Mount...Non existent almost...But I found a new one on Ebay. Also...do the bearings for the same year (1991) montero fit the Pajero????

Just use a prybar or something like that to pop the CVs out of the diff, no problem. As long as they aren't clicking just clean them out and put new boots on, messier, but waaay cheaper and I've always found the factory ones to be better than most replacements. My tranny/transfer case mounts were pretty much non existent in my paj as well, I just made new ones, but they're a little on the stiff side and a little too much vibration comes through.

Good information too know. Thanks so much. My biggest worry though is the retaining clip at the end of the cv axle...it's very very worn out
